It's taking up 78MB of space on a tosh 2.5HDD and I'm trying to totally wipe it as it has some errors (I think)
What would be a good program to use as Disc management doesn't quite cut the mustard here.
E-ISA was as far as I can remember a new extended-ISA standard for making ISA ports plu and play. You had to run and load this util to configure any EISA cards before they would work. Having typed the above this was years and years ago so unless the laptop is really ancient (in a moo-moo land!) then I can't see it being of any use.
Since PCI has been arround, OEM recovery/config partitions are usually set to that partition type because Windows is hardcoded to never try to mount or modify anything inside a partition of that type. What your OEM/retailer has used it for is anyone's guess

laptop still refused to boot off a fresh XP disc though, gave up in the end..
Hardware fault with the lappy I think.
