Whats gone wrong?

I dont seem to have access to PM's for some reason. Not really sure sure what to do, i'd rather have access to the forum so dont want to over step the mark by discussing it on here

All three, the first is a Linux distro (that's really easy to use), the second is a program for checking the MD5 in Windows and the third is a specialized .iso burner.

Yup, the amd64 is just the 64bit version since AMD kinda copyrighted the x64 add on.

Anywho, just get the i386 one. I'd recommend torenting it but it's up to you, and your internet connection.

I am downloading both atm, going at 2.3MB/s so shouldnt be too long ;)

I am torrenting it as well.

I know this sounds unlikely but I had a very similar issue a while ago. Tried a few different HDD's, 2 different copies of windows and 2 dvd drives.

Turned out to be the dvd drive, both the ones that I used were doing the same thing and when they were put in to another machine that already had windows on it they both worked fine. The third dvd drive I tried worked first time and installed windows with no problems.

Are you getting any sort of error message?

No error messages, just goes to a black screen and then nothing...

The DVD drive is fine, I used it to install XP on my spare rig...

I had a proble similar to this with an MSI motherboard and a P4 - it came with an XP install disc which worked fine, and Memtest worked, but no other Windows or linux discs would boot. Turned out to be a mobo issue.

Hope this helps

The HDD is fine. I have just coppied all their docs + pictures from it. The SATA/IDE controller is borked I think.
