What's the best alternative to Google Audio Chromecast ?

Didn't realise the situation with these, was just looking for another one to add into my setup, they do multi room which is great, not sure if alternatives do the same?
Does anyone know if its possible to add in one of the Google hubs or something to play as part of an audio group via google home? (So just act like a chromecast?)
 
The home devices can be added to groups, yes. You can pair two of them together for stereo as well, although two homes would be better for this as even the new 'improved' minis arent really made for music and two of them together doesnt make much of a difference.

A suitable replacement for a google audio cast is an Amazon Alex, which will happily stream radio, whilst linking via wifi and 3.5mm jack. No programming required, works out of the box etc. Perfect for someone who just wants to listen to the radio in normal quality!

Doesnt work well for people wanting to cast though.
 
And it also requires a device to be connected to it to stream audio for any services that dont support Alexa, like GPM. For people who dont want their phones or other devices streaming all their audio just to listen to some music, it isnt really a good alternative as there are some heavy concessions to be made. There is no device out there that'll do what the CCA did as well as it did it for the same money. Not even close. Which just highlights how daft google really are.

So, are there actually any left on the high street or is it a complete ebay fiasco now to get these?
