I have now to say that my choice was unfair. I ruled out CoD WaW because I bought it on the dame day as L4D and never really gave it a chance. Loaded it up now and I've spent the time between my last post and this one thoroughly enjoying myself - previously I got stuck fighting the Japanese and frustrated so I quit loving the sniper bit so far
I like mine in batter, but will eat one in breadcrumbs. The best cod imo comes from the atlantic. I don't believe they have ever participated in wars so it seems most of you are off your pickle.

The 2nd one by a mile. One of my most played games ever and just something I loved going back to - especially the online multiplayer.
Microsoft's premature/half-baked release of Vista combined with nVidia's horrible showing for drivers meant that my COD2 time was quickly halted and I haven't really got back into playing it again since.
Cracking single player campaign, almost cinematic... And the first level, choc-full of movie references and visually stunning. One of the best soundtracks of any PC game ever.
The 1st game. It was fresh and new, at least as an experience for me. I'd like to play the 3rd on the 360 so if I see a cheap copy in the preowned section I'll grab one.
