What's the cleverest thing you understand or know how to do?

I can explain Bondi accretion, (no I am not going to do it here as I need a while/black board and also I can't be bothered).

Work wise I can design and configure a Tivoli Storage Manager infrastructure which not only reliably works but also is recoverable in a full site DR (test at least fortunately) ... Something, from environments I've had to deal with isn't a common skill ....

Sounds impressive, if not pointless :p

Not completely pointless. :p

I am using it to investigate human impacts on landscapes due to expansion of urban areas and intensification of aggriculture.

I can re-construct the landscapes before they were settled and then compare them to what is there now.

I then hope to be able to model different expansion scenarios for various urban areas and highlight potential problems. That is some way off though.

It is useful but it can also be mind numbingly boring

I can probably take out an appendix :D

I can do that. More than likely the patient would die a horrendous death, screaming in agony but their appendix would definitely be out (along with a few other bits I would imagine) :D

Seriously, there's not a lot I can understand or do that's particularly complex. I can understand and perform most of the things I need to pretty well and that's good enough for me :)

Design superconducting electromagnets used in particle accelerators (CERN LHC etc) and gradient coils for use in MRI and therapy machines.

Only been doing it a month, and I don't know my arse from my elbow with it yet though. :p

Failing that, probably calculus (need a jump start now as i haven't dabbled with it for at least 6 months:o).

I've built my own car:-

I've also built my own electric bike.

Fairly talented forum we have here :)

I have no real specialist skills to boast of, but I'm sure given several hours and a lot of talking I could help people solve complex legal situations. Which just makes me a glorified researcher to be fair.

Likewise, I assure you that there is little skill in genetic engineering.

Frankly I think someone would win the thread if they could do a rubix cube, they always baffled me :p
