So everyone has their favorites, their ways and their wants. So on a fresh install of windows, what do you do first? What do you install that first day as your prime things?

For me:
OS
Chrome so I don't ever have to use IE :D
All Drivers/Software for motherboard etc.
Teamviewer
Steam / Games with it
Any none steam games
iTunes
Overclocking/Monitoring tools.

That's about it for my 'base'

Just wonder what others use on a daily basis? Or see as needed to be installed

I don't even want to think about it. I haven't done a fresh install on my main PC since 2011 :p

install os
install wireless usb adapter
activate the os
ccleaner (chrome comes with it)
anti-virus
msi afterburner
3DMARK
cpu-z
hw monitor
gpu-z
kodi
itunes

no particular order after ccleaner as everything(including ccleaner) bar wireless adapter software and os related are on a usb stick i dedicated to all the programmes i use, so install in time..

at some point during all this i will be doing windows updates and then eventually get round to sorting my games out.

i thought we don't need anti virus apps after installing win 10
this is what i do

Install os
install your favourite web browser
install process lasso (im trying it out, it does seem pretty cool tho)
then install all the other stuff you forget to install eg, winwar

Chrome remembers all your favourites and how you like it if you log in to google, pretty good id say

Top 4

After OS...
  1. BIOS & driver updates (because probably new motherboard/system)
  2. 7Zip
  3. Firefox & Thunderbird
  4. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
After that I let Windows update before installing other programs like Office, etc

Firefox, latest graphics drivers, spybot S&D (so I can have it's reg monitoring tools up and the sites blacklist added to hosts asap) then steam and I'm about set.

I'm reinstalling this weekend and not looking forward to it. So many apps. :(

I'm installing all work related and general stuff on to a VM this time to keep my main OS clean for gaming.

After OS+drivers, I always go to ninite.com and select all the programs from there I normally use, and let it install them all for me. Easy peasy.

Then Office and any remaining stuff.

For one of my PCs, rather than one for someone else, my list is:

Update BIOS (if new motherboard)
Install OS
Install all drivers (and Security Essentials if Windows 7)
Change location for all personal folders to the D: drive
Afterburner for GPU fan control, Speedfan for case fan control
Install MS Office
Activate Windows and Office
Set up other users on PC (main PC shared with family)
Install Steam to the E: drive so it can pick up all the games on there automatically
Install Origin to the F: drive so it can pick up all the games on there when you try to install each
Install Uplay to the F: drive so it can start downloading all the games even though the files are already there!
Install Windows Updates

After that, it tends to be install software as and when required - Imgburn, WinRAR, Leawo Blu-Ray player, etc.

i thought we don't need anti virus apps after installing win 10

i use 8.1 and it came with Bullguard, but thats ended and ive always had malwarebytes and AVG on usb stick, unless i decide to try one of the other pre-selected when you click on the 'find anti-virus programme'

i do have windows defender always turned on.

im not a fan of win 10 yet either ;)

Malwarebytes on top of defender.

I thought the same, but I will put malware bytes back on to be safe!

I've never heard of that before, I'll have to take a look.

just done a fresh install of Windows 10, I fully recommend anyone to avoid the Windows 7 - Windows 10 in place upgrade. wow it was messy for.

I use https://ninite.com/

It just creates a custom installer for all your applications and ensures all the extra toolbars, rubbish you don't need is removed, quick and easy.

OS + Updates
Drivers
CCleaner
Antivirus
MBAM
WinRar
Firefox
Make backup of fresh install so I don't have to go through the same thing all over again until I upgrade to a new motherboard. :)
