What's the most expensive item you have bought?

Probably a PC, the last time I actually bought the whole thing at once, at the end of 2003. Since then it's been progressively upgraded over the months/years. Cost me about R12,000 or so, which was probably around £1,000 at the time.
 
The wifes engagement ring and both our wedding rings cost a fair few bob. Actually we saved a wad on them by getting them in the USA when it was $2 to the £ and shudder at the thought of how much they would cost over here in rip off UK.

Suprised no one has mentioned holidays yet as they can be very expensive.

I am also suprised that Azagoth hasnt mentioned all the ganja he must buy since he smoked a 9 bar a week :p:D

FFS, it wasn't just me smoking it. You seriously think that one person could smoke a full 9-bar in a week? Between the lot of us, me and about 10 mates, we used to smoke half and knock the other half out.

Santa cruz bullit mountain bike - £1600

Although I did pay for it in £250 installments :p

In full though would be my peavey 6505 head, that was £690.
 
Some computer highlights over the years -

First 20 meg hard drive around 1987 for £450
16 meg of memory around 1989 for £800
DX266 processor around 199? for £360
2 meg graphics card around 199? for £350
 
My road bike @ 700 quid.
And my bike being the most expensive thing I bought is also the most costly thing as I've had to spend hundreds more on it :o
 
Like most people, in 1 lump sum is my laptop, £1100
Then My PC, £1000.
My HiFi, though bought separately, £1200
My Mountain bike, £800
My DVD collection however surpasses all the above put together......
