....with your clothes on (you know what I mean, no "well technically I was dressed but...") and not under the influence of drink, drugs or other substances etc. Basically platonic, uninebriated fun.

And why was it so fun?

To give another layer, maybe think about two categories, fun involving other people and fun you've had on your own.

Interested to hear what people come up with and perhaps some inspiration.

I couldn’t say the most, but some stand out things:

Tracking an AMG GTR Pro
Hockenheimring event earlier this year - got to see peak V8 and V10 F1 cars
Snorkelling in Egypt
Centre Parcs last year with my other half
Day I graduated university

Have also had some super fun weekends away with my other half in various places in the UK.

Riding a snowmobile on a glacier in Iceland.
Hammering an off-road buggy around the Sinai desert.
Go karting with mates (and walking away with the biggest trophy)
Jet skiing around a lake in France.
Dancing like nobody was looking, completely drunk at the University nightclub (before mobile phones ruined nights like that).
Racing around the off-raod track at Bug Jam.

I get up when I want, except on Wednesdays when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen. I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea and I think about leaving the house. I feed the pigeons, I sometimes feed the sparrows too. It gives me a sense of enormous well-being and then I'm happy for the rest of the day, safe in the knowledge there will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it.

off top of head coming back up to the surface from a scuba dive - which that in itself was a novelty as i only have had maybe 20 dives in my life - and coming up to a massive basking shark casually meandering past our dive boat.

on safari in the Masai Mara during migration season, some of the stuff we were fortunate to see was a once in a life time thing. it was also the life long dream of my dad to do it, so just witnessing him act out his dream made it even better. We slept in tents out in the wild for a couple of nights which was amazing as well....... (i say tents, it was far from roughing it, more like glamping really)

(cheesy warning but it was the weirdest happy / scared / excited (did i mention terrified) moment i can think of)

at the birth of my lad, after 12 hrs labour and then emergency C section finally getting to see my lad for the 1st time, cut the cord, and hear the words that every thing was ok my lad and wife would be fine.

Fun is a hard one. Most of my strongest memories are of experiences/achievement which is definitely different to fun.

Kayaking and wild camping in lofoten, Norway
My first decent size drop in my MTB
Sky dive for my 19th birthday
Overtaking 3 cars in a row in my old s2000 all in 3rd gear
Catching the biggest wave I've ever caught in a storm in Perranporth
My first beach to beach kayak trip where no where to escape between the 2 places.

With others there have been some hilarious dnd encounters
A traitor boardgame where I played so well until the end, waited till everyone was at low health, stacked the deck for a total kill, and the look on my friends face "Alex what are you doing... Why are... You're the traitor".
Some of the cosplay days at comicon

Probably loads more. Sad as I can't recall many of the random ones. Like where a conversation just goes from tangent to tangent and ends up absolutely ridiculous

No one thing but a few things have given me a lot of fun:

* When I used to play Paintball back in the 90's.
* Riding a motorcycle.
* Playing in video game arcades when I was really young.

Apart from the motorcycle thing (don't currently have one) I've not really had huge fun in recent years. I don't seem to get as excited about things nowadays.

This is why I've tried to cut out computer games. Doesn't even enter into it. Even though I spent so many hours playing.

Way too many experiences - in fact I don’t buy material presents but experiences or hobby try days etc.

Think some of the best experiences were simply going with the flow and saying yes.

Travelling off the beaten path really made a large difference - expanded my mind. After all experience is what you make it.
