I just spent £40 on a pay to win android game and was cursing myself, but it got me thinking.

I played Everquest for 11 years, most of that time I had 6 accounts, expansions were £240 a year and subs £720.

Probably £5,000 total, minus the breaks I had.

I've played Runescape on and off for about 8 years now so probably ~£300 on that. As an upfront purchase probably £65 on a special edition game.

I try to wait till the price goes down. I know (online not in person) someone who spent $200ish on a closed beta spot on a MMO they spend like a month on after release, nut job...

Mine would probably be GTA IV. I bought it new on release day on 360. I then bought it on PC retail disk. I then got it on Steam. I then got the two expansions. I then got another disk copy just got the code as I had used up all the activation codes for the steam version. I finally got the ps3 version which included the expansions for PS3 for when I'm on my exercise bike. so that's gotta be £160 or so just on GTA IV! Ive got to have logged over 750 hours on it though across all platforms...

I watched a youtube video where a guy said his group of 6 friends have already spent $50,000 on star citizen, it sounded genuine.

IL2 series probably, not so much on the games themselves but on the peripherals to play them with and pc upgrades that were pretty much for that and that only, makes me glad that Elite is actually using my peripherals now :D

For individual games?

£80 on Halo 3 Legendary Edition.
£100 on BF4 + Premium (didn't trust key sites back then)

Oh and about 6 years on LOTRO subs so that was easily a few hundred quid as well.

Yeah, Elite making me buy an expensive HOTAS setup after IL-2 just about let me get along with a halfway house Cyborg joystick just fine.

11 years too long with eve-online.

Finally packed it in last year with the accounts I never played, credit card expired:)

Still waiting on a 150 quid kickstart... most... All those ps1 games I lumped 50 quid on a pop.

Unless you fall for all the tat these days, pc gaming is dirt cheap:)

£70

Bought Battlefield 4 Deluxe edition in GAME for £50 on release as a bit of a spur of the moment purchase, and then spent a further £20 on premium membership before Xmas.

Probably FIFA 11 - 14 Ultimate Team mode. Especially 12, would buy MS points pretty much every pay day at least £20. Sometimes more a month :o

Don't really want to think, but it's a lot :(
