Whats the point in life?

tbh the meaning of creation is recreation (not sports, making babies)

Basically, life is a weird thing, or our lifes rather, i find it very odd that we are basically just a bunch of apes that invented jobs, money, leadership and rules and yet not very much has changed most of our money and efford is put into how to most effectively blow things apart.

guess that bit is a little off topic...

It just happened.

Chances were that life would appear, and as such, over the near infinite universe, chances were that some life would be capable of evolution, from there it just kind of takes off.

not gonna kill myself anytime soon :p

but why is life so godamn ****.. people banging on about the rat race when your a kid doesnt mean anything.. Now im 18 i know whatthey mean. I finish me a2s in 1 month, then if i pass ive got a gap year. No job, no gf, no money, no car.. If i do get a job I dont wanna be in a dead end piece of crap for the rest of my life..

I wish I was as astute as you at 18, you're going to end up in the rat race, 2.5 kids and a mortgage, just like 99% of the rest of the UK. School-uni-job-kids-dead or school-kids-dead.

If you want to be something different, do it NOW.

I was stoned once for about two years in my youth and I came to the conclusion that everything is beautiful despite the pain and suffering of life everywhere, then I sobered up and promptly became miserable enough to completely forget that previous conclusion and instead wallow in misery, whisky, and cocaine. Then I sobered up again.
Now I'm somewhere in between the two.

But more importantly, I was too preoccupied with the above for school, so now I have no qualifications to my name whatsoever.
I'm now studying music and making gentle progress towards having what we call "a life", but whatever happens, do what you WANT to be doing... this whole time I've been studying music, whether in education or not. It's very hard to go your own way and do what you want but Its worth the trouble.

Experience in life is more important than qualifications at times.
Although qualifications can lead to experience in life.

life's brilliant if YOU make it brilliant. Moaning like this and with this atitude you will probably be making a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you want a miserable existence you're going about it the right way.

Just decide what you want and make it happen.

Be a rap superstar, big house five cars, move on up in the world....

Of late I'm just completely flummoxed as to how people like 50 cent have made so much money. It seems a bit skewed IMO... glamourise violence, crime and the like, and the "sheeple" make you rich.

Life is about having as much fan as possible, at as little expense of others as possible.

My motto anyhoo, and I'm more positive a chap than most :D

A loving relationship with your family, friends and partner are key to this.

Life is one long train journey.
You board & wait for your destination which is Death.
The only thing that matters is how you occupy yourself during the journey.
Once you have your head around this then you start enjoying yourself.

Freudian slip? :D Not heard it in that short form before :p

I've asked myself this a few times lately. I had a night a few weeks back where I was watching a Russian christmas musical adaption of Cinderella, which I couldn't understand, at a Belorussian girl's flat, in China. One of those moments where I just though "how did I get here, and where am I going". I try not to think about it on the whole, it just complicates things. Basically, have fun, make the most of things - I've recently ditched uni to live on a sofa in Shanghai and do a lot of silly things. It's been interesting, and I need the variety to keep me going :)

Chin up though. Life has a whole bunch of things to do, try, achieve and experience, just don't take it too seriously :p

Chill. You're 18. You don't have a job (and the terrible realisation that you'll never stop working again until you're too old to keep your pants clean), the HORRENDOUS expense of running a car, or a woman to **** you off.

Lucky bastid :p

Ant

Hey it could be worse, you could have approximately 47 years of working ahead of you..... oh wait;)

I disagree, think smaller. Money and status are not the answers to anything. Only the beginning of a long chain of events which ultimately confound someone else's unhappiness.

Stop and smell the roses, tuck your children in at night and run through the field as fast as you can until your eyes become blurry. Then you are a rich man indeed.

Two extremes, find the middle ground and there you will find both meaning and contentment.

Just watch Flick :p

Life is full of moments, enjoy each one. Enjoy you are 18 now and the freedom without having to pay bills (yet).

On one hand, life is a marathon, so you don't need to rush it, just ride it as it comes. On the other hand, life is short, so don't waste it. If you are doing something unhappy, but you are in the position to change it, then change it.
