Whats the shortest time you have stayed at a job?

A close friend of mine is a social networking genius. He has quite a few mates who work as local recruiters who operate in a 100 mile catchment area.

Anyhow they give him the tip off that a new job is in and he gets the interview gets the job does the 4 week training leaves and does the exact same again straight away. I'd hate to see what his CV looks like!

He has been doing this for 2 years now and isnt short of a few bob.
 
lasted till lunchtime working in a leather factory - chucking raw hides into a big vat - i swore lots due to it being dirty smelly work. i was told that they didnt like my attitude and was shown the door - i didnt care and still got paid

In my last job a bloke lasted till teabreak, he was working picking orders in freezers, he said he was going to get his lunch from the car got in and drove off still wearing all the freezer kit we let him use. twas an easy job we only worked an average of 25-30 hours a week, less over the summer and still got paid for the full 40

Is your name Egg, by any chance?:)

Shortest time I've stayed at any specific job was just over 9 months - shortest time with any one company is just shy of 5 years (excluding my current job, which I obviously haven't left yet...).

I made a point in another thread that if you leave a job after a *really* short time, it's fairly easy to hide on your CV because you can easily explain a few weeks of unemployment as being down to travelling etc.

Obviously your next job immediately you wouldn't lie about it (needing P60/reference etc), but for subsequent ones you could get away with excluding it from your employment history.
 
I lasted a whole weekend. Two 10 hour shifts. I had to sort these microchip holders with a magnifying glass. If they had any imperfections I had to bin them.

Hated it :(
 
45 mins picking mushrooms when at uni,

imagine being in a dark shed which stinks of <you know what>

and the only way to determine what a good mushroom is by squeezing it, and if it pop its rotten.
 
Half a day work working in a warehouse when I was a student. Went to the pub at lunchtime, got drunk and never went back.
 
On the flipside, I've given people induction training (approx 2-3hrs), gone through all the paperwork, ID etc, issued them the relevant PPE, given them the tour of the facility, and explained the production process... and some have just walked out after it ended or lasted an hour and quit.

I realise the job isn't always for everyone, but have the guts to say before wasting everyone's time :(
