What's the worst game you have ever bought ?

NWN2

There's some games that I've not liked just because they didn't "click" with me - WiC, Sins of a Solar Empire, for example. But they weren't bad games. NWN2 tho.....in Co-Op mode anyway.....just badly designed and thought out, awful camera, detached and uninvolving world. Was terrible.

Hmmmmmmm. Tough one. Nearly all the games I've bought have at least some redeeming features...... Incoming for example, despite being incredibly repetitive and boring, at least looked pretty impressive 10 years ago and was a nice way of giving my 3dfx card a workout.

Maybe Micromachines V4. Very bland, horrible camera perspective and definetely not as good as MM'96 on the Megadrive. Even the somewhat short and consolified Mashed was better.

I did buy a game called Chaser which was awfull.

other than that, this will stir up a few bees..

Crysis

I'll sting you, but maybe not for the reason you expect :)

I actually have a bit of time for Chaser, because it is a pretty long game comprising over 35 levels, which have quite a good variety once you get past the early ones. The weapons are pretty cool and while the engine isn't anything to write home about, it does do a couple of things very well (broken glass and a bloom lighting effect) for a 2003 game. The story also has a lot of time put into it with fairly long cutscenes.... OK so some of it is a little confusing and the voice acting wooden in places, but it kept me playing through to the end.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't class it as a good game. But it's at least average in my book.

"Worst" is difficult - I have a large number of games collected over the past couple of decades. Some I have bought, loaded, played for a couple of hours and dropped, never to play again.

The most disappointing game for me of the last 20 years has to be MOO3. I watched their website for ages, I anticipated it, I wanted it. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the retail release. Then the damn thing was released as a dumbed down, bug ridden horror.

Tomb Raider II for the pc

the first Tomb Raider was great which i played on the playstation but i made the mistake of buying Tomb Raider II for the pc....yes it looked great with the 3dfx card i think it was at the time but every time she spoke or some music played(normally when enemies were around) the pc just froze as it needed to read from the CD drive which likes to pause the pc while it powers back up and does its thing.

made the game unplayable for me....a real disappointment

Stalker

Have to say its one of the very few games that ive installed, played, knew within a few minutes that I wasnt going to like it.

World of warcraft, i had to buy it to see what the fuss was about, stupid me never thought to download trial. but in the end it just didnt cut it for me, i didnt get into it what so ever. i feel that you would enjoy it more if you were to start with a couple of friends from the beginning.

Man, it truly is a Marmite game, huh? So many people absolutely loved it - me included, but so many hated it as well.

Personally, I await STALKER: Clear Sky with baited breath. I loved the first and I'm confident it can only get better.

Exploration ***!

Now that you've reminded me of that shambles I think that is the worst £15 I have ever spent. It was useless and the sound always got stuck, nothing like the gem of v3 (I think) on the playstation :)

I remember getting TR2 when it was released and I never had that problem. Sounds to me like an issue with your machine rather than the game. Your CD drive was probably set to power down if not in use for a certain period of time. I always have my drives set to 'Never' in the power settings.

TR2 was just as good as TR1. After that there was a steady decline

Worse game I ever bought was guild wars. I just could not get in to it after having played Wow for a year. Wow is basic but this was even more basic.

Hmm, For me it would be Mega Traveller :D

Something a little newer than that, The Blade Runner Game was terrible too.

Also, These days, I played on Overlord for a while, And I have to say that was disapointing.
