On topic, I imagine it was the thread about that pranked nurse which caused the suspensions? A lot of the comments were way out of line in there.
Edit: maybe not as that thread is still there.

I wasn't part of suspending, but after reading the thread involved, I can truly say that sometimes I am ashamed and depressed at GD. Some people forget that the internet isn't a complete free for all. You are accountable for what you write and sometimes there is a line of decency that all people should abide by. The standards lapsed last night and in spectacular fashion.

It was bad, but it was a standard above insulting or attacking individuals directly, that's the true low point!

Yes was wondering this too, just reading the secret Santa thread and noticed some of the recent posters are now suspended. Shame really, will their suspensions be up before Xmas or have they really really broken the rules?

Seems dodgy as hell if you're just going to start suspending people you disagree with just because they don't take the things you take super serial as serial as you. It's just a ride remember, don't be so prissy.

I'm also wondering this actually. (Obv reasons), but I suspect the suspension will be 7-14 days? In which case it'll be alright?

Personally, I don't think the mod was sensitive at all. There are times you make jokes and there are times that are inappropriate. This is one of them.

i did see it and there were a lot of out of order posts.

Personally I wouldn't entertain threads started that are from the media. If anyone notices it's always the religion/media threads that cause the stir. There are reasons media start this hype, which gets everyones back up.

Disgusting comments that people were making in them threads and infact they deserve a ban not a suspension. Disgusting.

EDIT: Stop the religion / media threads all together.

If it was the quite frankly disgusting posts in the baby death thread I'd have banned people. However I'm nit a Don...nor do I ever want to be one.

Oh and it's a family friendly forum so whilst some may find those posts amusing it certainly doesn't give the family friendly message. Don't like the suspensions? Well tough.

Given some of the inappropriate personal insults that get bandied about and routinely ignored or even deemed acceptable in at least one case, I find it all rather ironic!!!
