Whats your backup card?

GTX470. Failing that I have one of my Gigabyte GTX260 SoCs still and a pair of 8800GT. Should the apocalypse happen I still have my 7950GX2 in the spare parts draw.

Thats a fair spares draw, id get them flogged while there worth something :p

I don't so much have backup graphics cards as backup PCs...

If my i5 and/or 5870 went wrong I'd use my X6 1055T + 4870x2 to buy the replacement part(s). If that went wrong as well I'd use my C2D E6850 + 250GTS SLI. If a 250GTS went wrong I'm not sure I'd replace it. If the whole PC went wrong as well as the other 2 I'd use my laptop. If that also went wrong I'd use the C2D E6420 (with onboard graphics). If that was also broken I'd use my old AMD 939 3500+ (with a 6800), or possibly my just phone. After that I might be screwed.

Although I do have a 640MB 8800GTS and a 8400GT(?) lying around I suppose.

Still, I'm hoping nothing goes wrong. Think I'm covered though.

True, particularly with current prices, my two gtx 275's went for £70.00 and £65.00, both identical 640mhz core clocked cards, albeit they did help fund the purchase of sli 470's, that along with a few quid i won on the horses.:D

I use GPUs for folding@home, so have 2 460s and 2 260s so no real need for a back up card! Although I have just got rid of 4 8800GSs which I guess would have been my back up cards :)

Sold a couple of spare cards recently so all I have now as a back-up is a 256mb ATI 3450. I used this when a 8800gtx slowly died; I remember that the ATI card managed to play 'Thief : Deadly Shadows' with most settings set to as high as possible. Providing I keep the resolution low it seems to handle the very old games of that era like HL2 quite well, all considered. :D

I kept my pair of zalman modded 1gb 4870's as emergency backup cards however have an old gtx260 in my htpc that I could also rob if needed.

Radeon 2900 GT 256MB purchased for £25 when OcUK were selling them off last year. Bought purely as a backup, it's just about capable enough to tide me over in a crisis.
