Whats your BMI?

21.9 - 184lbs

BMI is a good measure of obeseness as long as you differentiate fat from muscle.

ie. a 30BMI fatty complaining about being denied health services looks a hell of a lot different to a 30BMI rugby player carrying lots of muscle, muscle = healthy, flab = not. muscle weighs more than fat too.

Just before Christmas I was 266 lbs meaning my old BMI was 31.5 :)

EDIT: What would it mean if I was built like a brick **** house though instead of being a chunky monkey? How do they know if your obese or really muscley :D

BMI = 20. However the BMI becomes pointless if you do any form of real intense exercise...which I do :)

BMI doesn't take that in to account at all, it cannot tell the difference between muscle and fat and as such is a completely worthless measurement. Take me for instance. My BMI is just in to the "overweight" category. However I have 7-8% Bodyfat percentage, with a clearly defined six-pack. This is simply because I lift weights and have more muslce than your average guy.

This is quite funny though, overweight rich or just well off people pay around £2-80k (even more for some) a month in National Insurance, which is 20% of their monthly wage ON TOP of the taxes and yet they will refuse them if they need ops? lmao this government is slowly ruining this country, stealth taxes, licking the usas butt, posing restrictions on people in needless ways. We pay for their mistakes too like the "black hole" of money, which means more rates on us, increased tv licence fee to "give BBC that current edge in technology" or something. Why does no one stand up against this? we too busy -.-

rant over

Mine is about 29. I'm 5' 10 and 14.5 stone.

At the moment, my bodyfat is around 18-20% so I could lose a little bit. But my resting heart rate is 55-57 bpm in the morning. I work out regularly. I ran the London Marathon last year.

Yet apparently I'm classed as obese, despite being fitter than most people. BMI's are a load of rubbish IMO. They don't account for people like me who are built like brick **** houses :D
