What's your default keyboard hand positions?

I thought WASD were selected as default controls because they are in the natural position we all go to anyway.

My left hand sits over WASD area and my right over KOP area.

As above, FPS. Pinky on CTRL, fingers on A, W + D (Mac keyboard, shoot me..) thumb on space. Hand on mouse. Go go go!

I never realised but it seems my default mode is FPS... Looks like the legacy of my PC gaming years remains subtly in my keyboard placement!

I use to be in constant FPS mode (shift, a, w, d, space) but since getting a g13 a few years back, i now have gone back to shift, w, f, space when i am using a full size keyboard.

Funnily enough i go to what would be FPS mode if i am resting my hand on my G13. It is not labelled with any letters and I dont look at it much but my hands find the optimum placing instantly because there are small indents in the wasd keys.

G4, G10, G12

Great piece of kit. Took me a few hours to get use to it, by the end of the first week, i wondered how i ever gamed without it.

I am hoping they bring out a newer version soon!

mine seems to be right hand mouse, left thumb on cmd & left ring finger on W - spend most of my time in browser windows (when i'm not coding, creating powerpoints or on the phone) so this lets me create new tabs, close them and open links in the background easily :)

I've never bothered to look. I just put my hands on it when I need to. That's about it really.

Am I doing it wrong? Will it make any difference to my life?

I use Nuke and maya nearly all day so my left hand is almost always in the same place...

thumb on cmd (kinda where windows key is) covering alt, space, and control)
middle finger on Q (covering #1, tab))
index finger on W (covering #2, E, and R, D)
ring finger on shift

not expecting anyone to try that out, but if you're asking if on whatever keyboard you go on, do your fingers end up on the same keys then yes :)

When there's a good thread in GD, my default hand position is one finger over f5. Not so much today though.

I wish we had a sticky linking to the most entertaining threads of the year, voted in by poll for slow days like this.

Really this should be in the peripherals section imo but its been a pretty desperate day in GD and when there isn't a guy asking 'how to life?' or whether he should purchase £450 moisturiser for himself #nohomo, we take what we can get.
