What's your default keyboard hand positions?

Mine is one of two:

FPS Hand:
W, A, D, Shift, C with the ball of my hand on the palm rest.

EvE online Hand:
where the pinky finger meets the palm resting on control, finger tips on the F1-4 keys.
I should probably rebind these keys for comfort but then i lose my muscle memory

FPS also, but i did have a month or so taht io played diablo 3 a lot, and had TAB as my key to stand and attack, so my hand started going for pinky on TAB and then fingers on 1, 2, 3 :/

As above, FPS. Pinky on CTRL, fingers on A, W + D (Mac keyboard, shoot me..) thumb on space. Hand on mouse. Go go go!

CTRL is the optimum key for crouching - what do you use then?

How is it the most optimul key? Left shift is closer to WASD. Left Alt for crouch (can't crouch and jump at the same time).

I feel the PC Master Race need purging

I'm a FPS but with my first finger on F ready to activate those switches and doors and my thumb on space probably from all the Tactical Pausing i've done on Mass Effect.

I'll admit, I'm a bit of a keyboard freak. Never got used to WASD, so still use arrow keys. It's the bane of my life when having to change new game controls which are totally configured for WASD!

When you place your hands on your keyboard without even thinking where's the first place they go?

My default position on the keyboard doesn't come from FPS games. It comes from motor racing games, specifically the Microprose GPx series. So left hand is middle finger on A, forefinger on Z. Right hand is thumb on space bar, forefinger on <, middle finger on >.

Never really thought about it before but i tend to have my fingers on Shift QWD and Space.

Currently about to hit the keyboard every few minutes (for some reason Windows 10 has decided to keep swapping to the US layout, so halfway through posts I have to hit Windows + space).

Left hand: ASDF thumb on space
Right hand: JKL;

If my two index fingers are not resting on F and J (the keys with the little bumps on) before I start typing, it just feels weird. Something to do with touch-typing I think.
