Hey fish99 - where did you get your T-Amp from?
I'm looking to source a Super-T here in the UK, but it's proving really difficult!
Cheers!
Just off a popular auction site. It's just the cheap plastic version not the Super-T. Still sounds superb though IMO and I'd love to pair it up with some better speakers. Btw I've just spotted the Super-T on that same auction site for just under £80.

I thought you used Eltax monitor 3's? Did you change them then?
The tweeters on the Monitor 3's aren't shielded, so when I got fed up of gaming on my TFT and got my Viewsonic CRT back out, I had to switch to shielded speakers, and already had the JBLs. The Monitor 3's are better though, the JBLs are short on bass. I'm getting a new WS TFT this week though, hopefully the Dell 2007WFP, so I might be able to ditch the CRT and switch back to the Monitor 3s. Not that either Monitor 3s or the JBLs are particularly refined. I'd like to try some Quad L-ites or Kef Cresta 10s at some point instead.

Onboard sound + Cyrus DAD3Q24 CD player --> Cyrus 3 amp --> Mission 783 Speakers via QED silver anniversary speaker wire.

Onboard sound isn't great, but if I want to do some serious listening I use my CD player.

hey, you're studying in Imperial as well??

Creative 2 ZS which runs all my audio via media player into a aura evolution amp with a set of jpw sonatas

On-board sound card which runs skype

Plus a set of Logitech V20 which run everything else coming out of PC plus games

Speakers: Ones that are part of my Technics stereo (About 8 years old)
Cables: Standard 3.5" Stereo jack -> Phono
Soundcard: Audigy 4 something or another
Others: Using the amp for the technics stereo too obviously

Does me. :)

If I want higher quality sound - Buying a pair of headphones early next year.
£100~150 on a pair of headphones. 0_o
Bit higher than my usual £30. :p

How *not* to mic up an amp!

There is some green card over the monitors' power LEDs as they're so chuffin' bright they nearly blind me! Must get some gaffer tape to do the job instead at some point.

This system is currently really badly compromised as the speakers are too high and one of them is in a corner! I'm soon moving the studio to another room where I'll be able to position things properly :)
The reason the speakers are currently upside-down, is that they didn't sound so great with the ports pointing right at my ears...
When everything's moved I'll have them the right way up...

Awkward room to photograph. The light at this end will flood the CCD sensor with the curtains open; with them shut the lighting is too low. You may also be able to see my mixer, didn't mention it earlier :)

:p , don't tend to use it very loud, detached house anyhow. Nasty resonance in that room unfortunately, may buy some bass traps.

Do you have a pic of the Aego M satellites next to your monitor? It's hard to tell how big they are and my brother may be interested in them :)

hey guys,

i'm using the Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1, may i know how to connect an Amp to it? wondering because i went to audition an amp (which i forgotten what brand) is connected to 3 x Aego M to set up a home theatre. The effect was fantastic and I wanna do one for myself.

Im currently using an Audigy2ZX (soon upgrading to an X-FI) coupled with some Creative Inspire 5.1 P5800 Speakers. Now while this is good for games/movies its pretty shocking sometimes for music. Would i be able to buy a decent amp + some stereo speakers and still keep my 5.1 setup from the sound card direct to the sub. In other words, can i get a cable outputting to the amp and then switch between the 2 sets of speakers. Would be great to keep my 5.1 but then switch to some decent stereo speakers for music.
Sorry if i seem dumb, but audio/hi-fi's is not my speciality.

Cheers.

Too Good

from the top:)

Yamaha RX-v630RDS 6.1 - driving the eltax center and bi-polar rears
Denon PMA-100m Stereo amp - driving the two 12" subs
JVC AX-R551 Stereo amp - driving the front mission m71i's and the genexxa pro x7 'mini monitors' on my desk (switchable)
JVC XL-V311 cd Player - for playing cd's (duh)

It's all connected up atm via co-ax to my x-mystique using 44.1khz pcm, none of that DDLive rubbish for music sooooo:

Speakers: mission m71i's in front (and Genexxa pro x7's), eltax HT-2 center, eltax ht-2 bi-polar rears (dont bother with a center rear), 2x12" subs in custom enclosures
Cables: basic stuff, nothing fancy except some RCA leads i cant remember the name of atm
Soundcard: HDA X-mystique
Others: Yamaha rx-v630rd, denon PMA-100m, JVC AX-551

You can build bass-traps if you have the time :)

You can also improve things considerably with wall-hangings and a mattress or two :D
