What's your PC audio setup?

Creative Audigy 2 ZS outputting 5.1 analogue, "CMMS Stereo Surround", Logitech Z-5500 in 3.1 setup, no rear speakers attached, but don't mind as rear sound channels don't have much data anyway...

Creative Soundblaster Audigy 1 5.1

running 2.3 lol

aux into home hifi, so

2x tweeters

2x midrange

2x woofer

2x 8" sub woofer

then wiring off to a single sealed 12" car subwoofer in home subwoofer box (custom made)

plays everything.......

Awkward room to photograph. The light at this end will flood the CCD sensor with the curtains open; with them shut the lighting is too low. You may also be able to see my mixer, didn't mention it earlier :)

OMG Dr.EM's setup for the win. nice setup mate

X-Fi Music -> Yamaha RX-V640RDS -> Sennheiser HD485.

I could do with some decent speakers as im missing the base notes using headphones all the time. Wanting to get some B&W or KEF ones eventually.

Speakers: Mission M32 Floorstanding and Rears with matching Centre and Sub
Cables: 40p a metre stuff. It's pretty good but my speakers are bi-wired so twice the price, otherwise I would have got some better stuff.
Soundcard: HDA X-Mystique, tempted to go X-Fi
Others: Kenwood KA-V5500 5.1 amp, Sennheiser HD515's

Panzer

I love my PC audio, it's not the latest DTS THX DOLBY DIGITAL 9.1 eleventy sixtyfour but it kicks out crisp clear audio in everything which is why I have stood by its side all these years and will remain to do so until the drivers totally fail or my amp stops working. They don't make this stuff like they used to these days.

Speakers: 1994 JPW Radius series with custom polycell tweeters. rms 100wpc (no subs needed with this pair, lol)

Cables: Pioneer thick stuff (some years old now forgot model, I bought 10 metres at the time)

Soundcard: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

Others:
1994 Kenwood KRV7050 Dolby prologic II/Stereo AV receiver connected to soundcard. rms 100wpc

Sennheiser HD485

Speakers: Wharfedale Diamond 8.4s in black. Smooth deep bass, crisp treble, superb vocal projection. The yellow Kevlar cones with black phase plugs look awesome too :D

Amplifier: Cambridge Audio A5 in black. Very nice amp for the price, good solid bass delivery. Does a surprisingly good job of powering my big speakers.

Cables: Pretty standard stuff, was using some thick bi-wire stuff but it's too stiff and difficult to manage now I have a smaller room. To be honest, it doesn't make much difference.

Soundcard: nForce2 on-board audio. "On-board audio with a hifi setup?!?" Read below.

Others: Audio Alchemy DAC ("DAC-In-The-Box"). I connect my nForce2 audio to this using an optical cable, then connect this to my amp. That way I avoid the low quality on-board DAC, and get beautifully detailed sound likened to CD players around the £300 mark. So I don't have to feel bad about using my PC as a hifi source - with the DAC it pretty much is. If I were ever to get a more updated sound card to take advantage of all the fancy EAX stuff, it would have to have digital output so I could use my DAC.

I'll get some pictures tonight if I remember, although it's pretty messy at the moment! (Back living with the parents temporarily after 6 years away!)

Speakers: Mission M33i fronts, M3c2i center, M30i rears (all in black)
Cables: cheap gale stuff from richer sounds, not the cheap cheap stuff, this was the next thicker stuff up but still probs just as cheap lol
Soundcard: X-Mystique
Others: Denon AVR-1906 amp

a cheep and cheerful setup :)

gonna get a pair of speaker stands for the M30i's in a week or so as they're too high up on my shelf. was just a case of they'll fit there for a bit and just lived there ever since lol

will get some pics for ya later

Ok, got some pics. As I'm temporarily living in a box at my parents, it's not going to win any awards for tidiness! The last two pictures are pretty crap quality as the light was bad but the flash would bleach them out.

Overview - Wharfedale Diamond 8.4, Cambridge Audio A5, Audio Alchemy "DAC-In-The-Box". Those speakers next to my monitor are Wharfedale Diamond 8.2, they aren't connected but are usually my rear speakers in the cinema setup:-

Wow, very slick setup there, photoshop! I wish I could be bothered to tidy mine up and make it look nice. Mind you, the desk is fixed so I'd have to drill holes to keep the cables tidy. Once I have my own place and a nice desk of my choice I'll probably make the effort to make it look good. But then all my speakers will be on my cinema amp in the lounge, so I'd have to buy some more for my PC setup. How terrible! *buys a copy of What Hifi* :D
