Whats your routine when you FIRST get to work

Roll out of bed, wait for eyes to work properly, crawl a few feet to my desk, switch PC on, check emails, do the work that comes through, I rarely ever drink or eat upon waking up as it makes me feel sick.

Get into work, log into the computer/phone the resource centre to check what vehicle callsign I'm on, make a cup of tea, find out who I'm working with and whose doing what, get a vehicle (ideally a shiny new one), check the vehicle for equipment and whether it's roadworthy, tell control what vehicle and callsign we are, and our skill level and wait (usually about ten seconds) for a call to come down on our system, start driving towards it or start writing out the paperwork.

Sounds like my working life too!

You forgot 'argue with colleagues when they steal my resources unnecessarily' and 'confirm for crews that they really are the closest vehicle to that emergency'....

Oh very much yes.

That and correct all the vehicles callsigns because they decide that they don't like that particular motor :D

Usually it's switch on computer and wait for an eternity for it to boot, all the while praying no one is going to barge in to the office landing a pile of 20 drawings on my desk that all need to be done 'yesterday', an occurrence that is all too frequent.
Fire-fighting is all very well when it's once every now and then, but when it's the routine it can get really demoralising.

Look at clock, see how many hours until I can go home.
Look at weather widget on my screen to see what it's like outside (we have no windows).
Look at pile of work that never shrinks.
Despair :o

Office > light switch > computer switch > water in mug, mug in microwave > computer encryption & login > add coffee to mug > computer is ready > drink coffee and browse the internet.

I'm currently at the last stage of this amazing process :p

Open office, turn on the lights, have a look round then do a massive fart:p...then i go to my desk and get down to doing some work before the rest of the guys come in. Usually get in for about 7am in the morning.

But yeah a nice big stinky fart so when the guys come in, they can bask in the ambience of my smelly fart.

This is the case with practically all the staff I work with in my area, they find it hilarious each and every time one of them farts too.

*sigh*

I seem to make them laugh more because I'm usually straight faced when they are all laughing.

Well its depends on where you class me starting my job.....

Arriving at the airport:
Park in the staff car park
Get the bus to the south terminal
Go through staff security
Walk through the terminal, via a departure gate to our company office
In the office turn on the lights
Login to the computers
Print out all the flight plans, weather, NOTAMS, defects, pax numbers etc
Collect the airport plates for the day (basically maps of how to arrive/depart from each airport)
Captain will arrive at somepoint when we will discuss everything and decide on a fuel load for the first flight
Once paperwork is done we'll go next door and say hi to the rest of the crew
Head out to the aircraft

At the aircraft:
If flying the first flight I'll go up to the cockpit
Power up the aircraft, usually using ground power or starting the APU
Do a security check of the cockpit also checking all the important things are there
Sit down, adjust seat, check behind the pedals and that the oxygen works
Go through all the systems checking and initialising (things like the inertial ref system take around 7 mins to align themselves)
Setup the flight management system
Brief the departure to the other pilot
do the before start checklist
During all this the passengers should have been boarding
Once all checklists are done, paper work finished and pax onboard we'll push back
