Coffee, the drug of the nation!

But seriously I wrap a belt around my arm and slap it furiously and then intravenously inject copius amounts of caffiene into my arm.

Put coat on hook, sling bag on desk.
Sit down
Unlock computer (don't turn it off as it takes about 5 mins to boot into windows)
After 20 mins or so once I get an idea of what the day has in store I get a coffee.

one big chap i used to work with used to always walk in door go straight to toilet and empty bowls with such a fowl soul destroying stench every morning like clock work.

would be literally as we all started work :p why he didnt go at home kinda puzzled me

Walk across car park, pass a few security doors with fob and get to desk.
Read the papers normally.
Glass of milk.
Log in/emails.
Pull out ID and stick lanyard around neck or on belt and in pocket, should really do that upon entering.

Sort of simultaneously.

Walk through access card gate to lift. Go to my floor. Swipe in. Unpack bag/laptop. Switch on laptop. Go get coffee. Come back and start work.

EDIT: So this thread has basically pointed out that a good percentage of you don't actually start work 'til almost lunch time :p

Normally get to work around 8 - but depending on traffic could be 830.
Go through all the security doors/barriers etc...
Walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor.
Dump my stuff at my desk.
Greet everyone, idle chit chat whilst plugging laptop in and booting it up.
Hang coat up.
Put bag away, and place notepad and pen in their place.
Offer to get coffee/tea/drinks to those in the vicinity.
Go down 4 floors using stairs (I don't do lifts) to our in-house deli.
Get a coffee and other drinks if necessary.
Climb stairs again back to 3rd floor.
Sit down.
Chat a little whilst going through emails.
Then my day starts.

Enter office, say hello to receptionist.
Swipe in.
Go upstairs, walk through greater IT department trying not to get engaged in any conversation.
Plug laptop in (IT are too tight to buy us docking stations)
Unlock PGP whole disk encryption, and wait for Windows XP logo. Close lid.
Whilst machine is booting, take coffee filter to kitchen and make coffee. (Black, one sugar).
Return to desk to find machine booted. Login.
Insert USB stick with portable apps on.
Go into Device Manager, uninstall USB drive. Replug. Drive works. Lambast the bugs in our standard image machine.
Read email, swear.
Drink coffee, take a deep breath and respond to emails in polite and professional manner, repressing the ever growing rage.
Smile sweetly at my team as they enter the office, exchange pleasantries.
Get on with day.
