Wheel nut torque value

Mine is always reset to 20-30nm, which is what the manual recommends, last time I checked it was still accurate after about a year. My previous one got screwed up I think because of lending it to people who'd just leave it on whatever setting they used :( (or they just didn't treat it well) so I don't lend my current one any more.
Yeah, I'm the same. Last time someone asked to borrow my one -

"so, I just flick this switch here if I want to use it to get the nuts off?"

"Errr.... Tell you what. I'll pop round and give you a hand."

I wouldn't have minded but I also brought him my breaker bar which I assume he thought was just for show :rolleyes:
 
I loosen mine off before putting it away. It's only a cheap laser tools model that I've had for about 10 years that has never been officially recalibrated, but I do regularly use my personal analogue calibration tester to measure it.
