Im not affected as its not my area but this really annoys.
Where I live all the local residents put their bins out and place them so that they are not obstructions.

Bin men come along and make zero effort to achieve the same, they do quite literally block paths with them.

I wonder how many of these complaints have been made after the bin men have been as opposed to before.

BTW its not a political comment for me, Im tory and its a tory council doing it (well was until next week lol)

I think its more aimed at people who cant be assed to take them back in once they have been emptied, only takes a minute.
Takes the mickey trying to walk home half cut and walk into a wheelie bin, then decisions come in to play of whether or not I need to use it as a way to speed my journey home from the pub up, so hopefully this problem will be taken care of for me now.
Just need to stop being tempted by road cones and I'll be officially grown up. :)

Aye, I'd imagine it'll be aimed at the people that don't even take them back in the same day.
Having said that our local bin men have for the last few weeks been putting the bins back where they collected them from

I'm not a bin men but why should they have to take the bins back for you? I mean... come on, are you that lazy that you can't just drag them back yourself ? It takes like 10 seconds... Could you imagine how much longer their job would take if they were required to do that in every single house? Who do you think is going to pay for that? Er.. you are.

in my old area before moving used to have some people leave bins out for a week until could be bothered to take them in

Shame it don’t effect that area

Could do with communal bin areas with daily collections like in Spain in some areas - every 2-3 streets there is a designated area for bins and recycling.

Round here it's terraced housing with no space out the front - each house has 4 wheelie bins! Taking them round the back out the way just doesn't happen for most people and the street looks a mess as a result with bins everywhere.

I think he is referring to bin men just abandoning them in the middle of the pavement where previously they were lined up nice and tidy against the fence/hedge thereby not causing any obstruction.

The old lady accross the road from me hasn't taken her bin off the pavement in weeks and she's been too lazy to take in her milk and newspapers too. I didn't know you could complain to the council about it mind.

Think I'll give them a call when I have the time.

She's not dead is she?

She's not dead is she?

Nah, she's not taking her milk or newspaper in that she pays for so she is obviously a scum. No other reasonable explanation

People these days...

Fyi my grandmother died and unfortunately her body wasn't found for almost 2 weeks because she lived very far away from the family and the only people who really interacted with her was the grocery store owner next to her house.

This

It used to pee me off that straight out of Uni, binmen still got paid more than me, yet they still don't do a neat job.

Some people like Doctors work funny shifts and may not be back for a day or so, usually one of us puts their wheelie bin back for them.

I reckon my council bill can be halved by sacking all the stupid people who dream up this ridiculous tosh, they obviously have too much time on their hands
