When are you going fully electric?

It helps that we’ve had an EV uprising in work, Sal sac and free chargers a plenty have really hammered home fuel savings for those that can buy them efficiently.

This year alone I have been involved in at least two large EV install projects for companies I work with, the last one was the most interesting. 177 type-2 chargers across a car par with 208 spaces, all of them are setup with the RFID option to allow a charge to start via the employee ID card, and then charged to their account as a reasonable 18ppWkh during the day. They decided to install so many for a few reasons, cost scaling being one primary driver with the grant the received it wasn't much cost per charger, they've just had many, many kW of Solar PV installed, demand for SS users, and those who wanted SS but had no off-street parking.
The best thing they have offered is the 'what if' so if someone leaves the business and wants to keep using an EV, they will allow them to use their card for up to 5 years, for the same cost, and have earmarked 10 spaces to accommodate these users, inc OOO access, this will help while the infrastructure is sorted for people without parking. I also believe they have been in touch with the local council to offer their parking/charging on a weekend, but that is still in discussion I believe. Not sure of the total number of users currently but believe it is about 30, with that hitting 100 in less than 15 months according to their FD.

A lot is possible if you work together to achieve a common goal, rather than being at loggerheads because you like the status quo so much.

100%, theres many solutions that can help us move forward tbh.

We used to be a nation of 'doers', not so much now, we just like passing the buck, blaming others or finding excuses not to change adapt and grow. And its mainly those that complain that are hoding us back. we'd rather ignore experts and take the word of a populist politician/celebrity.

To be honest I not sure why you so nervous about it. It’s the impression I get from you. I mean showing your neighbours that cars drive past their house on CCTV is a bit weird.

Because you are claiming I said people are stupid for not having an EV, nobody here can link to where I said that.

The neighbours were claiming my EV was dangerously quiet so I showed them several ICE cars driving past them on my phone WHILE THEY WERE STANDING BY MY WALL NOT THEIR HOUSE, I though it was brilliant and shut them up :)

Just say sorry and accept I have never said people who don't buy EVs are stupid.

Pretty sure if somebody accused you of something you'd want evidence so don't be silly.
And yes it is boring, 100% agree.
Happens all the time, that said if you are gonna call me silly I’m happy to help on the quest looking for your post?

I’ve had recent posters suggesting I won’t have a job and another suggesting I’ll need to learn “do you want fries with that” (which no one in the UK actually says). The burn was so hard that the posts got deleted.

Happy to join operation scorched fox, just ask away…

I have a serious question.
I had my MG4 in September and an 80% charge got me 205 miles which I was happy with, more than enough for our 50 miles a week which Simon seems to have a problem with for some reason.
I was expecting a reduction as the dark evenings and cold weather approached and wasn't surprised it was now down to 166 miles for 80%, more than enough for us pensioners and it's been this mileage for around 2 months or so.
I don't know if this was a Santa present but got in it yesterday and it's showing 201 miles for 80%?
We drove 4 miles to a daughters and this morning got in it at 2am and it was showing 197 miles for 78%.

Has anybody got a logical explanation why for the last two months it's shown around 166 but now showing 201?
I was expecting at least another 3 months on 166.

Outside temp and pre-conditioning? Lets face it, December has been very mild.

This whole topic just brings to mind the quote

Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still r******d

It's a crappy economic period for a lot of businesses though and even for those that are doing well there is a lack of confidence to invest in infrastructure because of what the next financial year might bring.

We really need action from high which means digging into the coffers but the message is that the government are skint.

It will be interesting to see what comes from the industry talks with the government about 2030/35 and ZEV targets. Hopefully they will come up with something but if I was a betting man I'd put a wager on the Government taking their negotiation influence from Nike - "Just Do It".

What Journey described sounds great but how many businesses are going to take that on themselves?
