When are you going fully electric?

Well last nights charge didn’t go to plan where the timer set on the car didn’t start the charger. I think we interfered with it somehow beforehand.

So have plugged it in without the timer tonight. Just the granny charger until we get a pod installed, but even a couple of nights of that a week is more than enough for what my wife uses.

Need to play about with the timer again on the weekend. At least it’ll still pick up most of the night tariff (first time using the EV tariff for the EV!).

Scratch that, once a week will do it. Managed to charge back up to 80% last night. Worst case scenario I’ll just plug it in at midnight on the weekend. With so little use I’m not sure we even need a pod for now.

Good shout on that granny cable that was recommended on here.

Saw this cheaper over here today

£422 for 2 years and 10k.

I'm pretty tempted...

It’s a decent car but I’m personally having endless issues with it.

The bigger problem is that I could only get a single garage within reasonable distance to look at it before March.

They were either booked up or didn’t have the ability to diagnose electric cars

That's just standard VW/VAG build quality innit

Just checking our SS scheme this morning and the Model Y range seems to have been updated:
Long Range AWD LR range has gone from 331 to 351 miles, and there is now a 7 seat version of the AWD LR being offered.
The delivery date says Feb 25 but I’d take that with a pinch of salt.

The RWD LR is still showing as 372 miles of range which is the same as before, but I hear the Chinese made cars had excess stock of those left anyway.

Not sure if that’s a sign of the Juniper being super close..
Similar thing happened to me -- the AWD one was initially offered @ 806 with the RWD @ 1040. Now the RWD is 830 and the AWD is 975. I haven't bothered checking the 7 seater but that is also available to me.

Just bear in mind the model Y isn’t big enough to be a ‘proper’ 3 row car.

I would not recommend if you need it for any more than occasional use and even then, the rear seats are for children only.

The legroom for the near most seats is very small even with the middle row slid forward.

I’d expect rates to jump up on the Y for a few months after the new one launches per the model 3.

They are also doing ‘launch editions’ in regions served by the Chinese factory which includes stuff you probably wouldn’t get on a leased car like acceleration boost and 20” wheels (19” standard) which pushes up the RRP.

Not very clever indeed.

From what I understand the car is registered abroad and has insurance abroad but as the person is a U.K. resident and has a U.K. driving licence.

I don’t think that specific car is illegal to drive in the U.K. It can be here for up to 6 months when relying on its overseas registration and insurance if the driver was a resident of the country it is registered in had has a driving licence from that country.

The issue is the driver is a U.K. resident and has a U.K. driving licence so can’t rely on its overseas registration and insurance. Hence seized for no insurance.

Edit: There is another one in the UK, that person who loans his cars to car wow a lot has one and is trying to make it U.K. road legal.

The local drug dealer I assume. An expensive day out.
Someone posted a picture of the same car on Reddit, it was advertising Sedgley Group which claims to be a prestige car dealership in Manchester. Guessing it could be used in advertising their business.
