When BTCC was good

we have BTCC videos and dvds for every year since '95. Used to go every year to knockhill too, my dad and brother still go but ive lost interest the last couple of years, not been since around 2004 i think, its just not as fun anymore.

Although its still better racing IMO than F1 and can be exciting at times.

OT but my brother works on one of old primeras quite often, they had it down at Autosport a few weeks ago

I started spectating at Saloon car racing in 1979, and pretty much spectated at all of the major Saloon car events in the UK until the late 80's, when other stuff like beer and women took over most weekends, though I still attended fairly regular until mid 90's I suppose. Group 1 and early Group A for me everytime. The 2L era had some great racing, but the cars were winged, FWD in the main and mundane, with a crap noise. Don't get me wrong, fantastic racing, but missing something compared to the older cars for me, and by older I mean the generation before the RS500's and M3's.

Quite close to the time the Dolly was used in touring cars. :D

Man, that brought back some great memories.
Loved watching the BTCC in those days.

There used to be a great replica of Ricard Rydell's Volvo near where i used to live. I used to see it on the way to school.

Cleland was my favourite in his Cavalier. ahhh...the good old days :)

Which is the key to this thread I think, each to their own. Most of the people on here will have only seen it on TV, and anything before 1990 will have been when they were playing with sand castles and plastic guns :p

Haha. Paper round wasn't going to buy me trackside seats...
