When Did You Decide PC Gaming Was For You?

3 games did it for me ...

Total Annihilation
Quake
Dungeon Keeper

the rest is history :)

after seeing my mates mums pc,my mate had quake and we played for hours on it :).
i got my first pc from comet, it had a amd 200mmx cpu, ati rage 2 4mb, and 32mb ram, cd drive. Quake 2 came out not long after i got it i was well happy :D.
Then a week later i got a 3dfx voodoo 4mb 3d card and i was living the dream :D

I have had pcs for years but i didn't relay get into PC gaming FPS until lsat year when BF3 was released, relised my pc was good enough to run it max over my xbox then slowly learnt to use a keyboard and mouse.

We bought a ready made Acer PC back in the 90's from either Curry's or Dixon's (can't remember which) which was going to be used for the internet. Anyway I bought Interstate 76 with it and later in the day a mate came over and gave me a disc with Mame on and 300 games.
That was that, and the PC has been my primary platform ever since.

The first time I saw my dad playing the original Theme Park was when I learned that they could be used for games.

Then I decided it was for me when I borrowed his copy of Civ 2. LOVED IT. Years later, when I could afford it, I bought myself a PC for gaming :D

It was just a natural progresson. From 8 Bit then to 16 Bit Amiga (courtesy of my mate next door) and then on to PC. The games just got more indepth and fascinating to play with each step.

At the time all consoles had to offer were siezure inducing games like Mario and Sonic, and I just WTF'd whenever I saw them being played! :D That was never going to be the path for me.

When I got my first PC, a Tiny Computers 350mhz Pentium 2. Consoles were about at the time and had some good games, but back in 1999 you truly couldn't beat PC gaming. Classics like Quake, Half Life, Deus Ex and so on all PC exclusives.

These days I love it because it's so varied and it's free of the faff that comes with Xbox... no need to see 35 adverts before you launch the game, ability to run it without the disk, the modding community... it's just more flexible and more interesting, full stop.

When i could finaly afford a decent one...

It was no coincidence that happend after i packed in heavy drinking, aka up the wall:O

Hellllooo Quake 2, id heard all about you:)

Years ago when the parents bought a family PC, and with it came Total Annihilation. One of my favourite RTS games of all time.
