When is 490 being released?

Probably around the same time as the XBox Scorpio or just before.

I expect the smaller Vega will probably share the basic hardware configuration of the XBox Scorpio.

I hope not :( xfire and SLI seems to be bottom of the list these days.

From what I’ve read it’s not really the fault of AMD and Nvidia, effects such as volumetric lighting and temporal displacement/projection that are being used more and more in modern game engines make it very difficult for rendering across two card using AFR. Roff or Humbug might be better placed to explain this.

If a 490 was going to hit the shelves it would have been Polaris based it would be out now already. If Vega is going to be top end I would expect it to be called a 590

True.. in which case i think the majority believe there will be no RX 490. If AMD stick to their current number system we would expect their next high end card to be the 590

I remembered AMD accident put up list of unannounced cards on website.

RX 490 was not the only one.

AMD launched RX 480, RX 470 and RX 460 but they are yet to launch 10 products RX 490, RX 450, R7 455, R7 450, R7 440, R7 435, R7 430, R5 435, R5 430 and R5 420.

If AMD will not launch these 10 products by 31 Dec 2016 then we all assumed AMD decided to cancelled 10 products probably due to cuts in R&D.

With the power savings shown by the pro line of cards, it's possible a respin of Polaris might get the clocks well up within the same power envelopes of the RX480/70/60.

If this were the case it would have already been produced and would be in the pipeline to retail, we'd have probably heard about it

They haven't cancelled anything, most of those lower numbered cards are OEM only and are listed on AMD's website as such.

According to Wikipedia they are mostly 28nm GCN 1.0 Oland, Oland pro, Cape Verde and a GCN 2.0 Bonaire pro parts.

there are sales periods in the year.often new things are released in those hot periods.

so i would say easter is next realistic of anything being released now. if not then a very long wait.

Ah interesting, I don't know they are available to OEMs now but they are not 14nm polaris so just yet another old 28nm chips rebranded again.
