When is travel time work time?

In the past we have been advised that from your home to your 'fixed' place of employment (See your employment contract for home office) would be done in your own time. If you were posted somewhere else then it would be classed as Home to Work upto a maximum of 2 years (for Tax purposes) as mentioned above.

Traveling from Home to Work should be classed as working time so you should expect something back.
 
Yeah, my formal place of work is in Yorkshire. The assignment I've been put on (by someone who was apparently sympathetic to someone with a young family at home) is in Middlesex.

I hate feeling that I've been taken advantage of.
