When was the last time that you used a pencil?

Two days ago, writing for a game of consequences.

Otherwise, I use carpenter’s pencils for marking everything. Marking out on metal or plastic? Use a piece of masking tape.

Tuesday, making a note.

I still use them whenever i'm marking things up for diy, or making a diagram/flow instruction for a game as well :) (for example working out the ratio/good layout for things in satifactory).
Sharpies don't work for anything with any degree of accuracy, hence why I use pencils for diy marking up, as the best a sharpie will give you is what my dad refers to as a "half welly" accuracry, as in "when the builders were laying down the bricks for this house they worked to the nearest half welly, and that's why half the walls aren't square."

Sharpies are great for circ saw lines as the blade is the same thickness as the sharpie ink

Literally 5 minutes before this thread popped up in new posts for me due to the poster above LOL - I cut a cardboard box in 2 to use as inserts to organise some stuff I was storing. Used a pencil and metal rule to mark out where I was cutting.

what's better sharpies or pencils?
I'd say pencils, but I'm currently covered either way.

Each day for sketching & taking notes. I found my stash of freebie Hotel pens rapidly depleting as they all run out - so resorted to pencils. Also like to doodle/sketch.

Don't use the old school 2HB from school, instead lead sticks, pencils I used during my uni days, Betol etc.

Yet to convert to a Mechanical Pencil as I found them too harsh and scratchy - been meaning to try again (same for Fountain pens). Sharpies, always see them as colouring pens rather than for writing.

Massive fan of Schneider & Staedtler pens; the latter - own a fine tip 0.5 nib bought over twenty years ago and it still works to this day! Never dried up, incredible.
