When will the forums get a 'like' button?

We could do with a "+1" button, and perhaps a "gay" button too.

Surely when people say "+1" in response to a post, they are in essence liking it? A like button makes sense to me...

I've never seen another another fourum have a "like" button - thats very facebook

I have seen other Vbulletin forums like Detaling World use the "thanks" button to thank a poster for a usefull post which would work well here i think, given the forum's nature of helping people.

However, nothing ever changes here so it will never, ever happen.

I think these forums are spot on as they are. It's pretty much the only one I use and, if I have been tempted to go elsewhere, I soon come back.

I think it would be good. Stars only work if the thread as a whole is good , but their could be only 1 good post which is either funny or helpfull and instead of 10 extra posts of LOL or thanks for your help , we could de-clutter the forums , reward the people who make contributions with likes and give the rubbish posts a negative and hopefully after enough negatives the person will stop making crap posts.

I'd rather see reputation meters, it's a good addition to a lot of forums i frequent. It helps you see who is helpful and who isn't, would be a handy way of pointing out the ati or nvidia fanboys in the graphics section as they would be negative repped for their constant plugging of their particular brand.....maybe even lessen the fanboy nature.

Suggested a few times but doesn't get anywhere unfortunately.

The "Thanks" button unfortunately leads to people giving smart arse replies in threads, especially in forums similar to GD. On other Boards I have seen it introduced on, these people are called "Thanks Whores" and overall it has a very negative effect on content on a board.

I would not wish to see it here.
