Personally I like to sit middle-middle in either the Jack Walker or the good ol' CIS stand at Ewood. Of course, I can pretty much sit wherever I like, not like it's hard to get a ticket.
Only went to see one game in my life, Barca - Sociedad. We were in the third third tier (north side), behind the left corner flag (approx). Quite far away from the pitch, but viewing was good.
As you might expect, Barca tickets were expensive. We paid around €60 for ours, and they ranged from €45 to over €150.
I'm 100% going to a Roma game this year. I would love to be in the Curva Sud, where the Roma ultra fans stay. Unfortunately, this is reserved for season ticket holders (they fill it all up) so I'll have to stay in the Distinti Sud (red part http://www.asroma.it/en/stadium/index.html). You get the best atmosphere over there.
Live football games are all about the atmosphere for me. If you want a good view, watch it at home.
Not all games are on TV (I mostly go to Saturday 3pm matches) and given the choice between good atmosphere and good view or good atmosphere and crap view I'd take the former
