I have a step-daughter who lives half her time at our house and half at her dads on a week on week off basis, this works out for us all very well. Last year she decided she wanted to live at our house all the time, so we arranged for this to happen. After a month she started missing her dad (although there were no restraints as to when she could see him and he regularly took her out for the afternoon or for tea after school) and decided she wanted back to the way it was. Then she decided she wanted to live at her dads all the time which we arranged and once again this lasted about a month till she wanted it back the way it was.
The moral of the story is kids don't always know what they want, they always see the grass as being greener, it's a big upheaval swapping their lives about and for the OP this may involve moving schools.
At 13 though and a female she probably has a good idea of what she wants, and I would be more than happy to find a way to make this work.
