Mine's pretty damn noisy, I think it's the DVD drive. I did go to the trouble of silencing my PC (Antec BQE quiet case, Zalman heatpipe GPU cooler, quiet HDDs on rubber mounts, SilenX CPUFan that adjusts speed based on heat) I guess if I hadn't done all that the 360 might not seem so loud.
