I bought something online back in March and i have just realised that i got sent the wrong product. I phoned them up and they said that they couldn't do anything after 7 days? Can i do anything about it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

2 Months ??? I think the limitation for something like this is 7 days. Long distance regulation, since its not broken or anything.

Yeah but how was i meant to know, it wasn't on the box or anything. i am not exactly that computer savvy either it took my mate to notice it.

I ordered a x1950XT and received a x1950 Pro so i got the cheaper option. This was the first component i have ever bought so was quite blind to it all anyway. My friend who has built quite few computers had a look and told me it was the Pro as oppose to the XT. :(

Sale of goods act, item not as described.

"If goods do not conform to contract at the time of sale, purchasers can request their money back "within a reasonable time"."

What the shop said was a load of crap in any case, recieving the goods does not mean you accept them under uk law, and 7 days is unreasonably short.

http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts1994/ukpga_19940035_en_1#pb1-l1g2

"Where goods are delivered to the buyer, and he has not previously examined them, he is not deemed to have accepted them under subsection (1) above until he has had a reasonable opportunity of examining them for the purpose—

(a) of ascertaining whether they are in conformity with the contract, and

(b) in the case of a contract for sale by sample, of comparing the bulk with the sample. "

Not very advisable to post in another forum that you're still using the card, and even attempting to clock it when you trying to return it, is it? Especially when the forums are owned and managed by the same store where you originally purchased it from.
