Thanks stan, I'll take a look. As a child always eanted to do some sort of engineering, Then I got put off and did a degree in IT. Now work for Network Rail in maintanace and relise engineering is what I should have done from the start.

No problem.
Good luck with looking, it can be quite challenging work but it can be very interesting and the rewards can make it worthwhile - I'm earning nearly double what I was earning a year and a half ago

Stan :)

I work for the company I co-founded, and have recently spent some time replying to e-mails from students from local universities wanting job placements..."sorry, no vacancies...I'm actually younger than you..." :D

I'm also on the board of the non-profit org which looks after this which helps out with this. We're goin' to Mars, baby...

Aww you turned me down :( :p

I'm a Lab Manager for Specsavers in Wigan.

Started when I left school at 16 as a Lab Tech, did 5 years and was head hunted by Vision Express to be Assistant Lab Manager. ******* hated it

Did 12 months though, then ended up leaving home and Wigan to be a waiter in Bowness on Widermere for about 6 month, then in a factory making mining equipment for a bit.

Ended up at Specsavers in Chorley for a year dispensing. Got sacked form there for being a drug user :(

Got myself sorted, back at my old place. Was in-store trainer for 2 years, then I was IT Supervisor for 2 years, now I'm Lab Manager :D

Back where I started, but on better money

Still in school, but I work functions at a local Hotel as serving staff (bit busy with exams now, haven't been in for a while) and on a local open farm during the holidays. Either in the entrance booth or looking after the "public" animals. (feeding lambs, goats, ponies, rabbits etc. sitting around between bottle feeding times and making sure nothing dies or is seen to be dead by anyone)

Both pay around £3.35 an hour. Still a silver service certificate and some PR experience could come in handy..

My careers tutor tore me apart in my interview and rather scathingly told me I might want to look at jobs, courses and uni's as they're going to ask me again next year and then it's UCAS time... I have no clue (but i don't think it'll be an Ict job, :p )

I work for my dad's company servicing and repairing amusement and vending parts. Coin validators, note acceptors, hoppers etc etc etc.

Past 3 months have been unpaid, but as of next month I'm earning. Not much, but enough. Investigating some sidelines to make it up to something decent :)

at the moment no-one, but in about 18 months i'll be out of uni in the big bad world of work.

Just got to work out what the hell to do with my life, or take the easy way out an go into investment banking.

I'm working in a place in the Norwich research park..... doing, well, researchy stuff on computers and biology....

I am one of the programmers for a company called Zero One Design. We make recruitment systems primarily but have a pretty wide range of clients.
Best job I've ever had...top place to work!
