Where do you get your 'style'?

Was thinking about this while out sale shopping yesterday - not sure I really have a style, but notice subtle influences on it from TV and friends.

Just wondered what everyone's style influences are - do you consider yourself to have a style that you can label, is it a mix of different things, or one all of your own.

My style is anything that fits and is comfortable, not too bothered about how it looks, don't see why I should be.

I wear nicer clothes out on Sat night, shirt jacket smarter trousers etc..

Normal clothes in the week, jeans tee shirt, polo necks more casual jackets, some of the tee shirts are skatey, but not overly soo, and some of the polo necks are casually type ones, but alas i only wear skate shoes :p

Just what I like wearing. I am neither a chav, an emo or a proto-goth. Just wear nice jeans, trainers and top.

In which case you have no style at all and do not belong in this thread ;)

I tend to be fairly all over the shop with my dress sense. I seem to go through phases. Last couple of weeks I've been wearing suit jackets a lot and looking like I've been listening to the Smiths constantly. Sometimes I just wear combats and a T-shirt, or really scabby jeans and a jumper. Really depends what I feel like.

The biggest influence on my style though is probably my younger brother if I'm totally honest.

An odd question to answer. I buy and wear what I think looks good, simple as that. So the question is, why do I think some things look good as opposed to others? There must be some kind of influence somewhere on what I buy.

I don't go in for this whole Goth/Emo/Jock/Whatever look, though there's nothing wrong with anyone who does.

I guess I also mean as a whole - not just clothes, what influences what music you like, what TV programs you watch, etc.

I suppose it's just what you like - if you hear some music and think hey that's pretty good, you'll get into it. Same with clothes, TV, movies, books etc.

I'm a sheep, i just do what everyone else does.

I used to be like this.

Now I'm very picky when it comes to clothes, the trouble with me is if I like something I wear it all the time :D

I like to vary my style as it confuses stereotypers. One day I can be found wearing an Iron Maiden T-Shirt with some old battered jeans and a pair of converse, the next I'll be wearing decent jeans and a Burton shirt with K-Swiss shoes.

Comfortable jeans, baggy t-shirt, hoody if I'm cold, comfortable trainers.

Most of the jeans I own nowadays are HipHop-style ones..Very comfortable and plenty of room in the crotch.

Mon-sat is suited and booted though.

Birthday suit ***, no seriously - combats because they have extra pockets for e.g. phone etc, and a long sleeved t-shirt. Good for casual day wear and nice at night as well. Fits well into both worlds..
