Where is the temp folder in windows where programs unzip to before installation?

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temp

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder, so you'll need to change your settings in Explorer to view hidden files.

I found it now, can i delete everything in that temp or is it not safe?

I have removed some files from common files found in program files

Is there any other folders I should be checking to see if anything needs deleting?

In theory, everything in the Temp folder is safe to delete, but then again some programs etc. don't seem to clean up after themselves.
