I also turn of the statusbar, fission gives me the information i need. I don't hide the windows taskbar though 2 screens frees me from that hassle

A couple of people at work do because they have so many programs open a side one allows them to see them better.

Personally, bottom and set it to hide and only show when I need it

I think thats the first thing I do when I install windows, disable group similar buttons.

+1 to the all the above.

On my normal PC though I have a thing called rocketdock which sits at the top of my screen, its just like the OSX dock, not that I am really a fan of apple is just easy to click on it.
I use a mix between rocketdock and the quick launch for everything I do on pc lol

On the top where it should be. Every menu bar in any application is at the top. It's a no brainer.
