...pretty much all the latest 1000s get to 170mph in about 14-15 secs afaik, thats like sitting on a missile :D

I'd ignore quoted 0-60 times as actually getting quoted times would be near on impossible for a normal rider 95% of the time. All larger bikes are gonna easily push under 3-4secs though no problem at all, even at traffic light GP :D

That list is really interesting. My bike comes out quite poor on those stats. Its geared quite low, so 0-100 is quite bad. Because its quite short and tall, the 0-60 is bad too. If they did a 0-80 I'm sure it would fair better.

Still, its not got a bad 1/4 mile time compared to other ~600cc dual purpose bikes.

Nice find, rates the CBR F4i at 3.52 (0-60), i can hardly hold on to mine sometimes, its kind of put me off getting a 1000cc motorbike in the future, i just cant imagine the power they would produce.

it's not that much difference from standing start, only difference is litre bikes are usually on one wheel through the gears where they just cant get the full power down and stay on two :-)

bikes like ZX6 put in sub 11 1/4s, but thats just down to their power being much more managible than bigger bikes..

That spreadsheet says my (or 07 at least) SV650S should get to 60 in 3.8, i'd loe to use some 0-60 computer and try it one day. But then it said they only got 68rwhp. Moh. Crazy. The Bandit 600 made about the same hp, but i'm told it's nearer 80...

Cakes.

I thought be Cbr 600 F5 was 105 Hp, but this data sheet is claiming its 90. If it is 90 it can certainly rip your arms off. Im kinda wishing i had chose something like an Sv650 instead of the CBR. The Honda is a great bike, but anything past 6k revs and it just turns into a rocket.

What are you a woman? :p:D

What is wrong with rocket?

What is love?

EDIT: I've only recently discovered the 8k plus range of revs on the SV, it's quite fun, but not so mental as these 4 cylinders, I am led to believe.

I loved doing 8k starts of the lights on my hornet ....front skipping the ground ...was great ... But if you think a 600 is quick wait till you try full power launches on a 1000cc bike . When i had the Gsxr k6 it was just so mental but actually easier to launch than the hornet .

Now with the tuono i can outdrag my 2 mates on there k7 gsxr1000 from a standing start to about a ton before the extra power and fairing come into affect and they come past me ... Only problem is keeping the front wheel down .. If i launch really hard it dont come down till about 110 and the stearing damper has a fit but its good fun ...cant beat a big twin for standing starts and getting out of corners .

At the end of the day they only go as fast as you make them so dont fear the big bikes just respect them .

Persil

I think I came 'closer' to lifting the front wheel on the SV650 a couple days ago, although admittedly it was probably just loading the rear more than i've done before, as I was in 2nd and opened her up properly. I've not done a really aggressive start on it yet, not had to hold on for life anyway! In fact I need to try it, I did it on the school GS500 a couple of times. Dunno if it'll even lift a wheel as it aint a bullet, also i'm not sure if i'll die. Not like "humans will never go above 60mph" die, but what happens if you come down and you've turned the handlebars slightly? Is that even going to happen or am I thinking too much?

Usually sorts itself out if not your going into a tank slapper :D then your going to wish you went to the gym or had a steering damper hehe :p
Had it a few times on mine but through my learning curve on the gixer like second gear wheelies coming out of corners and still learn over when front comes up thats enough to scare you haha, I have such faith in these Corsa 3's :D
