Where to get mint condition UK banknotes?

You never know, I might take you up on that if I struggle, thank you. I didn't know the Royal Mint sold notes, I've never seen them on their site, it's normally all coins.

I didn't even think of that, thanks. It's English notes they want.

It's not somewhere I ever go near these days, but thanks. If I struggle with a bank ordering some, I'll have to tap up a friend who works in the city.

I'm regularly in that area of town, but usually on weekends and looks like they're closed Saturday and Sunday.

If something does come up and i'm there during the week soon i'll let you know :)

A long time ago I managed to get myself a £1 Scottish banknote... Pretty sure it's in mint condition too....I wonder if it's worth much

This is a long shot, but you could try asking at a bingo club. Many of them still routinely have large amounts of cash on site. The one I work in has mint condition notes deliberately set aside because our archaic ATMs are more likely to fail if the notes are anything less than perfect and it's less bother to sort the notes by condition than it is to repeatedly deal with issues with the ATMs. Might be worth a shot.

I took some £50's from the bank yesterday, they were all new. But they had to order them in, from wherever banks order notes from, as they said they didn't carry many fifties in the safe. Perhaps that's why they are all brand new? I would think your branch would oblige if you asked, even a Post Office.

If you get stuck and want a new £50 in exchange for equivalent rumpled stuff (but not paper ones, thank you...) I can oblige. Probably have new twenties, too, but I would have to look. No tens or fivers in mint condition though.

Currency exchange.

It is pot luck though, but i got some brand new 2000 yen lately.

Or cash machine, they fill those up sometimes with new notes. You can always go back into the bank and deposit it back in your account if it's not new.

I can print you some off mate. Can do 20s for £15 and 10s for £8. Can only do them in black and white though. You will also need to cut them out yourself or it's an extra 50p surcharge per note.

A larger forex bureau may be able to help you, Feek.

Used to manage bureaux at one of the main airports. Our operation ran our own ATM machines and we frequently had large deposits of new notes to fill the machines, which would often end up filtering back in to the bureaux. And a constant flow of new GBP in stock for arrivals (but accessible, landside), even £50s weren't uncommon. That may be the exception rather than the norm but a high street bureau, particularly one with an in-store ATM (M&S, John Lewis perhaps - not sure if they would admin their own ATMs or whether they would use a provider), may be worth an ask.
