It seems i've finally found something that can upset them, Operation firestorm on BF3. Performance sometimes takes a nosedive, and i think 1GB Vram is a problem too (if not the problem, its getting maxed out in GPU-Z).

Ill probably be looking at a budget of around £250. the only real requirement is 2GB Vram+, although an AMD card would be preferable. I'm also playing at 1680x1050 on high settings.

What should i choose?

i've got textures on ultra,
Shadows and AA post on medium
the rest is on high.

ill try gulf and post back. EDIT: i don't have back to karkand, so cant check gulf of omen atm.

Im also looking at maybe getting an 8320 soon too, but that wasn't the main concern atm.

Try the textures on high.

Personally I'd wait until March to see what the latest and greatest GPU's bring, which "may" result in reduced prices for the current cards.

Cool. now you shouldn't get any hard drive thrashing now and ruining the smoothness of the game.

Also try the mesh detail on medium.
