Which 1080Ti

I want the Gigabyte auros extreme but to be honest I dont want to pay £700 at the begining of the year no problem but not half way through a product cycle, i am happy to pay £600 and could stretch to £650. I like EVGA but they are expensive. Ocuk had speical price on the auros extreme a while back and I did not take it because of waiting for STUPID VEGA and believing the hype and also Ryzen made me believe AMD was back.

I would prefer to buy from OCUK but their price swings wildly and its hard to get a good deal. I can get the auros for just about £710. If I wait 2-3 more months for some reason then I may not even bother with this round of cards and wait for VOLTA. Not worth droping £700 with new card just round the corner.

So waiting for a little while longer to see what special deal come.

I seen this one! Looks great and nice clock! But its £860 on Overclockers which is crazy high so that put me off. Volta clearly isn't coming out anytime soon and no idea on prices or benchmarks so to be honest a 1080ti at 1440 144hz will last me nicely for the next few years.

a) Aorus 1080Ti Xtreme is possibly the best 1080Ti out there, bellow the Kingpin. But the latter is out of stock and costs £1K. Better spend bit extra and buy the TXp imho than buying Kingpin.

b) I was on same boat after the failed purchase of Liquid Vega on Monday even if few minutes after the "go live". So did research focusing between FTW3 and Aorus Xtreme. The latter is better overclocker and cheaper (can be found for less than 730 if you search). Yes EVGA has superb products, but on OCNET many owners cannot even overclock the FTW3 10mhz over it's factory boost. While many Aorus Xtreme can run 2050 @40-43% fan speed, and comes with much higher clocks.

c) If you plan to watercool, just get the cheapest Gigabyte or EVGA 1080Ti. They are the best companies with clear policy on custom watercooling.

d) There is an AORUS Rep in this very forum, was discussing on another thread in here last night, how to RMA a problematic 1080Ti. Also there is a Gigabyte Rep around also (possibly same person). Haven't seen the EVGA rep for quite some time though. On top Gigabyte RMA is in UK.
(FYI there is also an Asrock rep in the motherboard forum).

e) I will let you know tomorrow night my impressions of the Aorus 1080Ti Xtreme :) if you haven't made your mind yet.

f) If Volta is as big increment as Pascal to Maxwel, a good 1080Ti will hold well until the Ti Volta comes out in 2019. And the non Ti edition isn't going to be a huge improvement over the normal one to justify the cost. So still we are talking about next summer, since NV has confirmed Volta some time late Q2 2018. So expect AIB cards in August. And Pascal isn't that bard card and 2560x1440 to lose value sharply. On the contrary with the Vega pricing, it would hold it's price well, and expect the next non Ti x80 to have the same pricetag at the 1080Ti today.

Do you mean the AIO version ? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...4mb-gddr5x-pci-express-graphic-gx-007-au.html

Or the other one ? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...dr5x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-001-au.html

The non AIO version is a little more reasonable but still way expensive for my liking

See if i'm going to get the Zotac i'll get the Amp Extreme, prefer the colours and i'm happy with the case size. Bigger the better :)

Not sure, I really wanna see if anyone has the Gigabyte one and see what they think.

Is there much performance difference between any of them?

Forgot to mention there's a Zotac Extreme which is cheaper but has only slightly less clocks https://www.overclockers.co.uk/zota...pci-express-graphics-card-zt-p-gx-10k-zt.html

If it was around £700 I'd probably buy it

Avoid the Zotac Mini. Did a bit of research on it and it runs hotter and noisier than the full size cards, and generally lower frame rates too.

I am in the same boat at the moment after my 980ti broke and I got a refund just waiting for a great deal on a 1080 ti, ideally would like a zotac, asus or an evga

Yeah let me know how you get on with the Aorus!! A lot of useful information here thank you!

That's the Zotac I was original on about which is £30 less than the EVGA hybrid. Still in two minds but think i'm leaning more towards the EVGA.

Ahh right I thought you meant the Zotac which was a little more than the EVGA SC2

This one - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/zota...xpress-graphics-card-zt-p10810-gx-10f-zt.html

As much as the Hybrid would be nice for running cooler I'd much rather get the +2 years warranty from Zotac, the fact they offer 5 years show they've got more faith in the longevity of the product and it's going to OC just as well as the EVGA only difference will be thermals and noise.

Plus you can extend the EVGA warranty think its about £20 for an extra 2 yrs making it 5yrs or £45 for 7yrs making it 10yrs! on a 1080ti

This is one reason I am now also considering EVGA product although who needs a 10 years warranty lol

I am now considering the EVGA 1080TI SC Black edition VS the EVGA 1080TI FTW3 edition. I am not sure if the extra price is worth paying?

There is also the EVGA GTX 1080TI sc2 Hybrid but that is £800 pounds just not worth that kind of money and I prefer air cooling to be honest, much less headache.

here is an excellent review of the EVGA 1080TI SC2 and over TI cards auros extreme ect

Just took the hit, was waiting for Vega but not as good as I thought it would be. 1080ti will be a nice upgrade from my 7950 :P. Opted for the Gigabyte Aorus which i got for £709, which isn't bad. Didn't want RGP, just wanted cool and quiet and everything cheaper was either 2 slot or blower.

I agree, even 3 year warranty is decent enough!

But i'm been a bit of a yoyo here because i was going to go for the EVGA Hybrid but after reading reviews and benchmarks i'm now heavily leaning towards the Zotac AMP Extreme Core. Really good temps, good overclock out the box (which is good for me as I don't overclock myself) and looks good :)

I hate decisions...

It doesn't really matter get the cheaper one. Overclock is luck, some get only boost as advertised on ftw 3 and I've heard of people with aourus not even getting boost clocks in oc mode and my el 'cheapo' SC black boosts with no manual oc to 1949.

They are all great, but the zotac is the best. I currently own the aorus and I can't believe how much higher the clocks were held on the zotac whilst also running cooler and with the fan much quieter.

Yeah, been looking all afternoon and that's me finally decided! Going for the Zotac. I want to thank everyone for their input and advice!!

You won't be disappointed by any of them tbh. I still remember the weight of the zotac - one hell of a cooling solution! I'll go back to zotac next gen.
