Which 460?

Every review says the Zotac is the loudest 460 there is  (Along with the EVGA EE)

How many of the reviews talk about using the improved BIOS and fan profiles? Also, the EVGA and Zotac are just plain reference cards aren't they? They have the same design and they look a lot like older Nvidia cards.

No they aren't stock coolers, they are custom, and the Zotac and EVGA coolers aren't the same (though they are both blowers).

This is the nVidia reference cooler for the 460:

Yeah mines different to that, i put a pic up a few pages back.

EDIT: Both Zotac and EVGA have two different designs. Their 768MB cards are the standard reference design while their 1GB card uses a different design.

The Zotac 1GB and EVGA 1GB cards look very similar, the main visibly different is their backplates. They look like older Nvidia cards like the 260 and 280's for example. Barring in mind the 260 & 280 are longer then the 460.

If you are not bothered about spending a few extra quid then you could go for the KFA2 GTX 460 LTD OC. After running a GTX295 from BFG that is now bust (another story on another thread), having a cooling system that is extremely efficient is a god send. See here...

Where my GTX 295 would run at around 100 C most of the time in IL2 Forgotten Battles, the GTX 460 has never reached more than 60 C. That is with the highest settings.
