I'm looking to replace my B7 with a new model for improved eARC to use with Sonos. I'm looking up to £2k but if as an example the OLED65CX5LB is up to the job at £1,667 then I'll get that. Also looking at the 65OLED805.

I don't care about apps, I use an Apple TV, but wouldn't mind a user friendly OS for accessing the settings menu to calibrate the TV.

Would you consider a Philips 65" 805? I've been considering the 55" version. But the 806 version is out very soon. It uses a LG panel with android Tv and decent sound.

I've pretty much decided on the OLED65CX5LB, just a case of waiting until I move house and working out who to order it from.

good choice. cant go wrong with an LG, i've just been looking at the Ambilights recently, i've never really had one before (are they a gimmick?), and now that theyre LG screens with Android TV, theyre definitely worth a gander.

I have the 65" C9 and it`s a brilliant TV. It supports my 5.2.2 sound system well via eARC.

I wouldn`t buy from anyone else than Richer Sounds. I`ve had issues with stuff in the past, and they handled it impeccably.

They specifically highlight that OLED image retention is not covered by their warranty. There are also a few threads on AV Forums where they appear to be difficult to deal with unless pushed. So I’ll be avoiding them.

The newer LG oleds have better image processing which removes a lot of the black crush. They also have the dynamic mapping which improves the quality of the darker areas and colour stepping.

Not had a Panasonic so can't compare but I can only go based on owning a b7 and cx lg oled.

Problem with LG is even with their upgraded processing they still ain’t even in the same league as Sony and Panasonic

I used to have a Panasonic Plasma 42". God I loved that TV. Quality was amazing. I would need to see a Panny and an LG OLED running together to see which gives the better picture.

Sony’s image scaling is top of the tree followed closely by Panasonic, then I would place Philips and Samsung with LG behind those. It’s something where LG have always struggled. I would upload some pics of my GZ2000 and the Sony A90J I had for a short while, but I can’t remember the site I used to use
