Which budget SSD?

Just checked my BF3 folder . . . 34GB

Think I'll be waiting for a 128GB then :D

Glad I asked, thanks!

You'll be fine with your OS on a small SSD and BF3 on your HDD. I've got my system set up that way and I'm always on the server before everyone else - I'm using a 1.5TB seagate drive which is a couple of years old.

Oh really? Hadn't really thought of that option!

I guess then I could another SSD for games later on?

(I know we're talking £20-£30 difference by the way, but missus not working and a baby to feed and clothe is taking it's toll. The pennies count)

Just a little hint regarding BF3 loading time. A lot of the time the long load times are due to AVs scanning the files as the BF3 requests them. Windows Defender have a habit of doing this and you have to set up exlussions or disable it all together. Currently my BF3 is installed on a raid0 with 2 old samsung spin points f1 and the loading times are near perfect.

Ah interesting. Thanks Phixsator. I don't remember the load times being so bad before so maybe I have AV issues like you say. Will get on that!

My Origin folder takes up 58GBs ,34GBs of that is for BF3...(so thats half of a 64GB SSD)....which I have installed on my additional 250GB SSD which I use for my games .

For BF3 to load more quickly, wouldn't it be more beneficial to leave the OS on the HDD and install the game and it's data onto the SSD ?

Just got my Corsair 120Gb LS today, incredible upgrade!
I do have one question i though i may ask in here, save starting a new thread.
I ran AS SSD Benchmark and i Read speed was 520 yet my write speed was only 129mb:confused:
Is that right? advertised speed was around 520MB's on both read and write.

Got to i'm loving it!
System boots from power on to desktop in around 10 seconds, maybe less.

Not only that but when i do get to my desktop, it's instantly responsive, no waiting for startup programs to kick in etc

Loading times on games are now a thing of the past:D
By far the single best upgrade you can get if you don't have one.
