Which Business Class Service To Mumbai?

Yeah that's correct, although it looks like the 777 now does both and they have stopped flying the 744.

I think I am pretty settled on Kingfisher now. At least once to give them a go.

Gosh what a suprise that every person who mentioned Kingfisher also told you that Emirates are better but still you decided on Kingfisher. It's almost as if your mind was made up before you posted the thread, how suprising :D

Except Emirates don't actually fly direct from LHR to Mumbai AFAIK?

You would have had a good point if Emirates actually flew direct to Mumbai...

No, they fly via Dubai, but not once has he stated he requires to travel direct :)

Not trying to have a go, but he sort of semi implied it by the fact that he is considering Kingfisher and Jet (because they fly direct), rather than the other big airlines.

And if you've ever done London to Mumbai via Dubai you'd probably never do it again, the stop over time was 7 hours when I flew out during the BA strikes!

Kingfisher are well worth it, it's all about the Kingfisher Experience ;)

Thats not an exhuastive list of the direct airlines though - Air India and Virgin Atlantic also fly direct from London to Mumbai. Virgin Upper Class is supposed to be nice.

OP - just do what [TW]Fox tells you - while hes patting himself on the back you can then make your own mind up :p...

ps3ud0

When I book a flight through my work, they only let me choose certain airlines... not sure if it's to do with price or whatever, but it is quite annoying! :(

Funny how people differ isn't it?

I'm used to flying £250 budget airlines like Royal Brunei to Dubai, where they say a prayer before you take off (which really instills confidence in the flight ahead) and the seats are made of wood... and I really don't care at all. I will always fly cattle class, I've flown business on a companion ticket from SFO to LHR on United (11 hours, 747-400), and it was nice but not worth 2.5x the price. It's only 7 hours from Dubai, I can deal with not having a kingsize double bed to spend it in.

Now i'm sitting in Terminal 3 in Dubai waiting for my Emirates flight. At £430, this is the most expensive flight i've ever had (as the Business Class flight was completely free).

Well, then again i suppose I spend more money on things other people would never dream of, but it makes for amusing contemplation.

I'd reckon that over 90% of people in business class dont pay for their own tickets, its all people flying with work, at least from my experience.

Yes you do get people who think they are big and clever for flying in the front of the plane, they are usually the ones playing minesweeper on their laptop with a powerpoint slide to put over in case anyones looking. They also love to have loud conversations in the lounge on their blackberrys, and turn them back on the second the wheels touch the ground casue they are that important.

For me, My company has a rule that over 8hrs = business class (simplified version its more complex but thats the jist of it). I always fly in casual clothes, sometimes out and out scruffy if i've been on a jobsite. I have never felt big or clever for flying up the front. I didn't read the OP as trying to come across as bragging, its a sensible question and quite a few others on here do allot of airmiles so not a bad place to ask.

My opinion, BA is one of the worst Business Classes only beaten but United or delta.
Asian airlines are usually much better service and equipment Singapore Airlines being particually good Korean air arent bad either.

Middle Eastern airlines are usually the next best or even as good as asian airlines (Emirates or Qatar not some god awful internal flight in Iran where you feel lucky not to die).

I've only been to Mumbai once it was BA and it wasnt great..... Frankly I can't see anyone bragging about going to Mumbai its quiet frankly a **** place to go and its on my avoid if at all possible list for the future.

Actually Virgin don't fly to Mumbai, it's a code share with Jet. Air India is not option as I did not mention it as being one.

Gotcha, thanks. I will give it some more thought tomorrow, thanks to everyone that has helped so far, its appreciated.

Found out today that the Mumbai route will be operating with the newly delivered aircraft from some time early Sept. Will be pot luck for a few weeks if you get the 777-300ER or not though until the others come into service.

Thanks Dandle, I really do appreciate the time and effort you have put in. I have, today held the Kingfisher flights, its not till the end of Sep so I can give it a while before i need to get ticketed.

Many thanks

My first and only experience of business class travel was with United, and it was faultless. Good entertainment system, nice food/wine, and fully flat beds.

I think the experience depends more on the plane and its set-up than the airline.

BA business is rubbish though, ive flown a few times with them on my way to Canada whilst on business and they were frankly rubbish...first class was slightly better but not by much though.

I now fly Air Canada business and its pretty good, better than BA thats for sure. If i could handle indirect flights then id fly to Dubai and catch an Emirates A380 from there to Canada but i wont as i hate long long flights unless im forced to fly them.
