Which card do I upgrade to?

So is this 100% guaranteed not to have black screen issues? :p

If it does, you can just DSR it and try again. You wouldn't lose anything.

Plenty of people will help you get it up and running and tell you what tools to use to get the clocks stable.

Oh yeah coil whine is another issue as well...

I'll just buy a next gen console instead I think!! :p :p

If its any consolation i have 2x290 Pro cards. The cheapest 290 cards going. Not only have i never had a black screen with my Elpida memory, my cards at 90% of their max performance (thanks to my crap PSU) are 7th in the firestrike dual gpu graphics score. Not bad for £560 green queens on a reference cooler.

That's what was concerning me a little bit because I've got 5 case fans running at the moment, a long with a 4.2GHz OC, an SSD and a HDD... As long as the 650w will be more than enough I'm happy. :)

I did a quick calculation for my system as im running a 650 watt PSU and wanted to know where I stood with a 290x and a 4.4ghz overclock on a ivybridge along with 4x200mm fans 4x140mm fans and 2x120 fans, fan controller, led lit case, H100 cooler, 2HDD, SSD, DVD RW, sound card and 4 USB devices connected. Came to about 580 watts with a typical 90% system load so to me that would say a 650 watt PSU has amples of room especially those superflower ones!

Also, when I get the card, would it run absolutely fine at stock or do you have to mess about with the clocks to get it right? Not bothered about overclocking it right away as I'm sure it'll be more than powerful?

it should work fine at stock, they oc easily too if you fancied and yeah it'll eat a 7850

Yeah I literally just want to be able to put it in the PC, install it and not have to do any messing about.

I just don't want the black screen/coil whine issues to be as occasional as Google makes them out to be!

EDIT - Also just seen that this card has issues with throttling when under load, even at low temps? Wow...

**** it. I'm just going to go for it. Any issues I can just return back to store and the issue with the clocks dropping seems like an easy fix thanks to Matt. I'll just have to learn to use some 3rd party apps.
