Going to be painting my man cave this weekend after newly plastered.

What colour should I use for my projector wall and other walls in the room?.

Was thinking of just going Matt white but read that some people say to use a grey to get deeper contrasts and less light reflection.

What do you recommend?

For surrounding walls ideally you want something that will reflect as little as possible. For the surface you are projecting on will depend a bit on the projector you have and calibration - too much grey without the right calibration can distort colours in some cases.

Ideally you want to be projecting onto a screen.

You can get special projector paint. As said you need a screen, I believe you paint the screen with this special paint.

You can also paint the wall with it, but believe it doesn't work as well as the screen would.

You need a dark matt paint for surrounding walls and preferably ceiling too. Mine is black, but is a dedicated room.

Projecting onto a wall is only ever going to give limited results. Screen is very important.

Thanks I'll try a white wall first with Grey walls and see how it looks. I can always install a screen if needed at a later date

For mine Black wallpaper with a subtle bit of sparkle in it on the walls, matt medium grey for the coffer and woodwork and a dark grey for the ceiling. Proper screen highly recommended, selling my old one on the bay at the moment.

Looks stunning. But can't help thinking with an acoustic screen you could have gone bigger....

I always go too far though...
