Which company car?

Is a Badge still regarded as a penis extension in 2008?

FWIW I work for the worlds 2nd biggest engineering company, in a global role, and tbh, a lot of Europe doesnt even really have company car schemes, many of the directors/managers/middle managers at our company drive 'lesser' brands. So i think its its a bit insecure of some of you guys to think having a Ford will impede your way to the top.

This be the truth, our engineering finance controller drives a Fiesta! (Saying that our vice president comes to work in an XK-R!)

I also work for an engineering company, and on the engineering side, the guys are more or less down to earth, they take the cash alternative and get their own cars, which are all down to earth..

However, my brother works for a more 'IT' orientated company and they are 100% as Pug says, so unbelievably snobbish about their company cars it's cringeworthy.. They would be the sort of people to get a Passat over a Mondeo, clearly not because of the cars abilities/quality, but simply that the Passat's are more expensive, and so one up in the kudos ranks.. these are people that don't know bugger all about cars, but have to look the part.. they all pay loads on top of their allowances for that elusive next model up, When my brother took the cash alternative and got himself an E39 M5, they laughed at him because of it's age and called it a paupers car, I kid you not !..

to be honest lads, this isnt really helping me choose a car lol.

What does the mondeo have that the 407 doesnt?

Er reliability, those French haven't got it dialled yet :D

Man this thread depresses me, how a VW is seen as a superior car is beyond me, the only thing superior in all honesty is the price.

Not superior but better than Fords.

Atkins? If so cackles…. (not sure how big they are anymore though)

Tbh that kind of electronic handbrake sucks. What in your normal brakes mess up while on the motorway, eg. a hydraulic lead leaks all the liquid in it ? A hand brake is much safer as you can use it to brake in case of an emergency at high speed too...

Edit: Ah sorry for reviving the thread but I was linked to here from another thread so thought it'd be active :(.
